"No problem! It's not really a matter of understanding, but actually finishing them all in time. Yesterday I barely managed to avoid pulling an all-nighter," Max nodded in acknowledgement. "On that note, see you around?"
She gave him a soft chuckle. "Yeah, maybe."
Looking towards the city skyline, he realizes that it's starting to get a bit dark, even though it's still bright enough for him to read a book without the city lights, he wants to take a taxi back. It'll be faster that way. He may be taking 10th grade level classes, but he was only 14, for pete's sake. rummaging in his pockets for any pocket money, he finds a ten dollar bill and exactly four cents. i hope that's enough… he thinks.
