"Oh? Nicknames are always fun"
He laughed as he watched her succeed. Well….nit really succeeding, but definitely doing better than him.
"Yeah, mine is definitely rigged. Do they have a thing against the air elementals?"
He says crossing his arms in a pouty, and somehow cute way.
Deciding to try again, with a gush of air flowing through the huge room, shaking the rest of the weapons, he draws back the string all the way to his almost to sharp of a jawline, his white hair falling on his forehead as the corner of his lips curved up as his piercing sarcastic blue eyes focused on the arrow as he steadied it, then letting go with another gush of wind as he flew back a few inches, his white feathers almost sparkling in the light that the windows let in from the sun, the arrow going halfway into the target, and oh so close to the center, but not quite.
"Well……..i guess that's good enough."
He shrugged.
"Show off." She pouted in the same way he did, trying to mock him. "You only got it because of my advice."
She looked down the rows of shooting ranges and got an idea. She lifted off and flew down the rows, gaining speed and aiming as she went. When she was reaching the end of the room she found a target and released. The wall came up fast and Zuri almost flew straight into it, but she slowed down just enough to turn and push herself off the wall with her feet and flew slowly to the target she shot at.
"Better than I thought that would go," she noted. The arrow was wedged in the wall an inch away from the left side of the target, the way she was flying.
"Youre ri- oh?"
He says stopping in the middle of his sentence to watch her.
"Wow, okay"
He says with a slight smile.
"I'm not gonna try that just yet… I still need to practice more"
He says pulling back another arrow and firing it the same way he did before. Asaaand missing the center of the target, the arrow sticking into it barely at the edge.
"Yeah, that was probably beginners luck."
She made her way back to the target beside Seong-Jin and saw his latest try and snickered, but covered it up. Then she practiced flying stationary some more, her shots getting closer and closer to the bullseye, and getting more and more grouped.
"Once we get this down, what station do you want to go to next?" She asked.
"Your choice"
He shrugged, as he shot another arrow, hitting the bullseye. He decided to try what Zucchini had done. Zipping through the air, he was going a little too fast, but not paying attention since all of his focus was on aiming, he flew right into the wall, falling to the ground with a cough.
"D*mn… I need to work on that"
He mumbles quietly to himself as he laid down on the floor still.
Zuri burst into laughter and dropped her bow. She dropped to the ground and laughed so hard she started coughing.
"Yeah, you need to work on that! But seriously, are you ok Sesame Seed? You didn't impale yourself on your own arrow, did you?"
"Pfft, even if i did id be fine!"
He says as he laughs a little, pushing himself up and turning towards her.
"You gotta show me that again"
He says rubbing his forehead as white hair fell over his hand.
"Sure," she chuckled.
"The trick is to find your target early and fire a bit early. Also, you want to pay attention to what's ahead of you. Cough cough. Dumbass. Cough cough.
She tried it again and did the same jump off the wall next to Seong-Jin, giving him a smug look. This time it hit the target, but still at the far left of it.
Looking up at her in awe, a little smirk crossing his face as he stood up.
"Easy"
He says as he walks over to the other side taking his leisurely time.
Lifting up to the air, and shooting across the room, finding his target early, aiming……and firing, the arrow zipping through the air, hitting the target, closer to the bullseye than before, then just remembering to NOT hit the wall…..but alas…..it was too late, and he was down on the ground again. He had some work to do that was for surem
Zuri looked down at him and sighed. "At least there won't always be walls in our way in the arena." Then she made a face of pure agony and added, "But I imagine there will be trees."
She helped him up and gave him a pat on the head. Then she motioned for him to stay where he was and took off. She took a shot flying at full speed and burst out of the hallway into the open training room.
"Can you check where I hit?" She yelled back to Seong-Jin. While she let him check she scanned the rooms and stations, noticing some of the other tributes looking as well. Then she started to head back.
(What does she mean for him to check where she hits?)
(You can make up where the arrow hits I guess. Or tell her to do it herself. Idk, it's up to you.)
(Kk lol)
Once he sees her, he crosses his arms stubbornly,
"Check yourself Zucchini"
He says grabbing his own arrows and flying up to try again.
"Fine, you butthead."
She walks down and watches to make sure that Seong-Jin doesn't fly into her. She finds the target she hit and pumps her fist in victory.
"It hit just left of the bullseye! Maybe you should've checked for me to see this magnificent thing." She mocks.
Shooting the arrow next to hers before she could pull it out, he lands in front of her, pulling out hers, acting as if it was just his that he had shot, then looking over at his arrow that wasn't even on the target, then looking at her.
"Well, i did good, but….."
He looks back at his own arrow, with hers still in his hands.
"I wouldn't say it was….magnificent"
He says with a laugh as he flies away with a mischievous grin on his face.
"You jerk!" She laughs. While he flies away she sends a gust of wind down the hallway to make him wobble while he flies. Then she retrieves his terrible attempt and peers around the corner to see where Sesame went.
Shooting around the corner, sending unintentional hard gusts of wind her way as he shot across the room, aiming with her arrow, which looked different from the set that he grabbed she Zucchini could most likely tell it was hers, which he purposely did for no actual reason, he just thought it would be funny.
Watching where he was going, not hitting the wall, but instead pushing off of the wall as he shot, then quickly getting another arrow from the carrier (of the arrows. Idk what it's called lol) and shooting another target as he flew back, missing the second one, but close to a bullseye on the first try, then landing on his feet with a thud, right by Zucchini.
"That went better than thought it would."
He says actually proud of himself for doing that
Zuri gave him a little round of applause and one whistle then stopped.
"Aren't you just the archery prodigy." She teased.
"Since we've obviously mastered archery, do you want to move on? I've been eyeing that survival station. We'd have to watch the instructor before we did anything there, but we need those basics."
"I definitely have not mastered archery, but I guess its good enough. And I know all about survival, but I suppose we still can"
He says running his hand through his hair as he caught his breath.
"Well, I need to learn those types of things still, so I'm going to go through their mini-course. Maybe you can find another skill station close to it that you want to check out." She says, putting back her bow and quiver (I'm pretty sure that's what they call the arrow carrier thing?).
She notices her braids were coming loose from flying crazily everywhere, so she fixes them as she walks to the survival station. An instructor with a crazy afro of hair greets them.
"Hellooooooo!" She almost yells, obviously excited someone came to her station. "Am I to be helping you today?!"
Zuri stopped in her tracks as soon as the lady let one syllable, out.
"Uh, you can help me, I guess." She says, almost regretting picking the station.
"i mean, i might a well…just in case i missed a few things"
He says following her.
As they enter the room, surprised by this lady's enthusiasm.
"same"
He says as he steps forward, by Zucchinis side.
"so whatchya gonna be teaching us?"
He crosses his arms.
(Can we just skip through the actual instruction bc its gonna be too long? Like, just start practicing making fires and stuff on our own?)
(I think we might wanna give everyone else time to post and work on everything before we go to anything else)
Ara stepped into the training room, an hour and a half after she was supposed to arrive, and smirked. The other tributes were already there. She got some disapproving glares from the GameMakers, and flipped them off before sauntering to the weapons station. She tilted her head, examining the selection, and smirked, holding out her hand. A javelin made of pure, cold, clear ice grew into being, and she twirled it deftly.
Ash looked over at the newcomer, having seen her out of the corner of her eye, and winced, seeing the idce shaft. Ugh. Ice was cold and disgusting. How could anyone even stand being so close to it? She shook her head and continued practicing throwing knives.
Blaise stepped up next to Ash. "What's wrong?" He asked in a low voice.
Ara saw the shiver and smirked. She tapped the end on the ground and tossed her head back, scanning the room. "Anyone care for a spar?" She asked sweetly, venom dripping from her tone.
Ash sighed. "Ice spear. Absolutely disgusting," she said with an eye roll. "And why on earth would she show off her abilities so blatantly and obviously in front of the competition? That's just bad planning," she added, throwing another knife, harder this time, and hitting the center of the target.
Ara overheard her and smirked. "Sweetheart, I'm not showing off. I'm not even doing everything I can."
"Sorry, I didn't realize it was polite to listen in on other people's conversations where you come from," she said with a sarcastic smile. "Does 'showing off' have a different meaning where you live? Because where I come from, using your talent blatantly in the middle of a room with a lot of people in it is generally counted as showing off. No matter how much of your ability you may or may not be using."
