(Ok here we go) Sam was stunned by Orion. He could feel himself burning the shorter man, but Orion seemed to not care. He seemed more concerned with Sam than anything else. The sentiment made him want to cry a little. In fact, it made him want to cry a lot. Sam leaned down a little and hugged Orion back, an ugly sob wrenching itself from his throat
(He is now sad melty dad lol)
Orion didn't flinch back at the sob, and simply continued to cling to his friend. Starting to hum softly, he held him, refusing to let go. In the woods, in a burnt clearing, a creature created by darkness, and a god accidentally summoned, supported each other, lived with each other. The two, however different, had found a common ground. One of protectiveness and strength. One of acceptance.
(omg I'm gonna make Lata hug the sad melty dad)
Lata snapped out of her thoughts hearing a wail from the front of the house. Sam…?
She stood up out of Lucy's embrace thanking her for helping her out. She dragged the older mage along with her to find Orion and Sam hugging. And Sam was… crying? That was new.
(Oh god don't make me friend-ship this more than I already do)
Sam felt himself crying before he could stop it, the tears near boiling. He felt his body begin to slowly cool, and he leaned a little on Orion. "I…I'm so sorry," he sniffled
(Screaming, I can’t handle it)
Lucy allowed Lata to tug her toward the sound of sobbing. Her eyes widened in surprise when she saw that it was Sam. She didn’t know whether to feel more sympathetic or shocked in the moment.
(Welcome to me torturing my characters lmao) Sam noticed the others in the distance, and he told himself to stop crying, that they didn't need to see him like this. It backfired spectacularly, the weight of the past millennia suddenly crashing down on him. He started to cry more, hugging Orion tighter
Lata didn't care how rude Sam was at times. She didn't even care about the rips in her sweater from Orion's panic attack. She had a feeling that everyone needed this hug desperately. She ran forward and joined the others and nearly cried. This was her family now.
(I KNOW AND I'M CRYING IRL A BIT)
(When I threw Sam into this rp I put it when he got kicked out of his home by an asshole goddess who wanted his power so there's a little context for sad noodle dad)
Sam flinched at Lata. He looked at her, teary-eyed. "H-Hey," he said, voice cracking a little as he tried to smile. She reminded him so much of Lillith, and he couldn't help but wrap an arm around her and cry a little more
Orion did as Orion does. He refused to let go. If a few silent tears wanted to spill over his lashes then who was he to stop them? Smiling, the cat eared man realized that he had something that he had almost forgotten one could have. Family, he had family. Orion let himself cry silently, and hugged the rest of them all the tighter.
(fEELS) As Sam cried, his heat began to slowly die until there was no trace of it except for a few molten splotches on his cheek and a few dull orange runes. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry," he repeated as he sobbed into Orion's shoulder
(I’m going to be on and off for a short time so just act like Lucy got in on that group hug)
Lata was weirded out slightly at Sam's behavior. It was really out of character, but she wasn't going to complain. He seemed really sad after all. They all were actually. So, she stood there with the other three and relished the family hug. She began to cry silently along with Sam. She wasn't sad at the moment, but filled with an overwhelming sense of happiness. The vision of people kicking her away and the hateful words threatened to come back, but Lata then imagined Sam threatening to burn them all alive, or Orion, protecting her. Even Lucy there to comfort her and to teach her new spells.
(When the hug ends later, I have a thing I wanna do for more feels)
(oof, i dont know how much more feels stuff we can handle rip)
(OH MAN I WANNA DO IT THOOOOOOO)
(I'm ok with that, the feels probably aren't over for Sam lol) Sam sniffled, starting to calm down. He felt tired all of a sudden and just so…defeated. He wanted to just lay in the grass and wait for the rain to wash him away like the insignificant speck of ash he had become
(I keep thinking of a scene where Lata is alone with either Sam or Orion and they both fall asleep and end up napping all day)
(Ahhh, I’m going to be so emotional by the end of this)
