Tolkalee notched an arrow and turned in a slow circle. Nothing moved, but something was watching them.
Tolkalee notched an arrow and turned in a slow circle. Nothing moved, but something was watching them.
Jackson moved a bit to ry and get a better angle so he could see what Tolkalee was looking at
It was starting to get extremely cold. Like sub-temperatures, cold. Tolkalee was still scanning and searching for any movement. He got nothing, and Seth didn't either. It was dead silent now. Not even the wind was blowing.
As it got colder kat woke up and her voice sounded a bit groggy “what’s going on?”
Seth was instantly next to her placing a hand to his lips and telling her to stay quiet. He was in a crouched position looking around. Tolkalee suddenly turned on his heel and stared into the darkness on the other side of camp. It became silent again.
(Sorry for being gone so long)
She stopped talking and grabbed her bow from her pack
Jackson lightly picked up the buellette as to not wake him up
(Don't worry about it, you're fine.)
Then a cricket started chirping from somewhere. The temperature began to return to normal, and things began moving around the forest again. Tolkalee slowly let his bow drop and Seth took a silent breath.
Jackson noted the drop of tension in the air he calmly sat down the buellette
Seth looked at Tolkalee. "What was that?"
To which Tolkalee responded with a shake of his head. "I have no clue. But whatever it was, it knows we're here, and I think it was letting us know that it was here."
Jackson spoke up “why would it let us know of it’s presence?”
"Maybe to make us be afraid," Tolkalee shrugged. "I honestly couldn't tell you."
"It's called a mental advantage," Seth spoke up. "It was telling us that it knows who we are and what we look like. And we know nothing about it other than the fact that it was causing everything to flee. It is trying to make us be afraid, for that mental advantage."
Tolkalee nodded to Seth. "Yeah. What he said."
“Well then, I’m not going to try to sleep now. i can just take over for watch if ypu need t sleep Tolkalee” she started to stand up and she grabbed her bow and quiver
(Sorry again for being gone so long)
"No, we're only about three hours into the night. I'll continue the watch for a little longer, and then I'll wake you up to take over," Tolkalee explained.
Jackson layer down but he moved his sword a bit closer to himself just in case
Kat later down and tried to go back to sleep after about 30 minutes she fell into an unpleasant sleep
Seth stood talking with Tolkalee in a hushed voice. "So, we wake both of them when it's time to switch watch?" he whispered. Tolkalee replied in a nod.
"Whatever that was could easily pick someone off," he explained. "Two people awake is safer as a whole"
Jackson and kat were still sleeping
The night dragged out, and it wasn't until past midnight, that Tolkalee finally moved. He stood and walked over to Kat, tapping her on the foot, and then moving over to Jackson. "Get up you two, your watch starts now."
(Sorry for being gone so long)
“Okay” Jackson got up quickly with kat she sat on a stump with her bow drawn, Gunther groggily waddled over to Jackson and he gave Gunther a little raw meat to chew on
(No you're completely fine.)
Tolkalee sat down and leaned against a tree, pulling his hood over his face and masking it in shadow. Seth gave him a look, and settled down himself. The night dragged out even longer. It was definitely more quiet again than it had been earlier.
Kat shot up and peered into the woods she thought he saw someone looking back “I’ll be right back” she stood up with her bow drawn ready for a fight
Jackson stood up as well “ Don’t go it isn’t smart”
She kept walking slowly towards the tree line
(Sorry the show I was in just had it’s tech week)
Seth, shifted slightly, but didn't open his eyes indicating that he wasn't awake. And Tolkalee didn't move. He looked to be asleep as well.
(I'm so sorry I got really busy this past month and haven't had a lot of time to be here.)
(That’s fine I’ve been busy too)
He gave up and calling her back “just don’t stray to far we don’t want anyone to be killed” he sat back down and kept looking around just in case anything tried to attack
Kat entered the tree line and followed what she thought she saw she started come across ancient stone overgrown with moss
And a larger ruin came into view
The ruin looked like it had been around for hundreds of years. There were huge stones with even bigger cracks down them. There was what looked like the remains of one building in the center of the small clearing. Even the remains of the building were collapsing, and covered in moss. The moon was shining into the clearing casting shadows over things and lighting up the layer of fog that surrounded the clearing. Looking closer at the ruins there were many symbols covering them.
Kat was drawn to the tunes as she came closer she thought she recognized them she went in the building the domed room was cracked one half of the dome had fallen to the ground she looked at the sides of the building and it hit her she looked at her shoulder and the runes matched her neck exactly sudden exhilaration and joy flooded her mind she whooped finally this curse was closer to being cured but dread slowly flowed through she wouldn’t understand this so how would it really help she sat down against the wall talking herself about what to to do next “is this even it, or are there more ruins that I have to search through. Well with my luck” she stopped talking and looked around the room quietly
"Why do you have those anyway?" Tolkalee's voice echoed from above her. He was leaned against the wall where it had caved in a bit.
She jumped up in surprised “wha-what are you doing here” she stuttered
"I couldn't sleep," he said dropping down lightly next to her. "And you had wandered off, so I came to make sure you were alright. This forest isn't the safest. Especially after dark. And you never answered my question."
