first of all, multiply the whole equation by -3 to get rid of the negatives and fractions.
you should get 5(12x+27)=24
next, simplify "5(12x+27)" to get 60x+135
then, plug that back into the equation to get 60x+135=24
subtract 135 to get 60x=-111
next, divide by 60.
you should get x=1.85, or 111/60
