Ilya laughed quietly at the blush, pecking him on the cheek. He tugged Nathaniel forward into his lap. "Do you want to go a little farther, or is this good?"
Ilya laughed quietly at the blush, pecking him on the cheek. He tugged Nathaniel forward into his lap. "Do you want to go a little farther, or is this good?"
"What do you mean, farther? Like… to the end of the bed??" Nathaniel made eye contact with Ilya, confused.
"Oh my god, I'm seducing a baby," Ilya laughed, leaning up to kiss him gently. "No, I don't mean physical distance. I mean… going beyond just kissing."
Nathaniel gave Ilya a small, bewildered smile as he glanced away and back. He clearly didn't know what Ilya was talking about.
Ilya sighed, trying to find the right words and coming up short. "I'll explain it later, okay? It's just stuff couples do, it's not that important."
"Alrighty." Nathaniel giggled a bit. "I'm sorry I'm so clueless… I'm probably making this more difficult for you."
"I mean, it's a little weird to have to explain some of this stuff, but I don't really mind." Ilya pecked him on the cheek. "I like you a lot, I don't mind telling you about these things."
Nathaniel nodded and lay his head on Ilya's shoulder, his arms loosely around the fairy's neck.
"Feeling sleepy?" Ilya asked gently, looping an arm around Nathaniel's shoulders to support him. "You've had a long day, it might be good for you to get some rest."
"Yeah…" Nathaniel closed his eyes and sighed, soon dozing off.
Ilya laughed quietly, easing Nathaniel into bed and tucking him under the covers. He summoned a glass of water and the pain meds from the kitchen, setting them down on the bedside table, and wrote Nathaniel a short note before he wandered out of the bedroom. I'm in the garden if you need me, please take some meds before you wonder around. -Ilya
Nathaniel slept for a good few hours before the pain in his ribs woke him up. He glanced at the bedside table and noticed the pills, taking them without hesitation. He picked up the note and read over it, deciding to stay here until the meds kicked in.
Ilya was covered in dust and kneeling beside a rose bush, tugging determinedly on a particularly stubborn patch of weeds. There was mud smeared across his hands and knees and a large streak across his forehead from where he'd been brushing the hair out of his face.
After about ten minutes, Nathaniel dragged himself to his feet and went outside, yawning. "Ilya…? What're you doing out so late?"
Ilya turned, looking a bit like a startled rabbit. He relaxed when he recognized Nathaniel, concentration turned back to the plants. "I'm just weeding the garden, Honey. It's not that late, is it?"
"It's like, three in the morning…" Nathaniel sat down, leaning against the door frame tiredly.
"Jesus, really!? It's only been like…" Ilya trailed off, trying to remember how many hours he'd been outside. "…5 hours." He smiled sheepishly, a light blush coloring his cheeks. "Um… I'll walk you back to bed. What woke you up?"
"My ribs started hurting more and woke me up…" Nathaniel reached up his arms to Ilya when the fairy approached, trying to stay awake.
Ilya wrapped an arm around Nathaniel's shoulders, half supporting him as they walked back into the house. "That must've been annoying, I'm sorry. Did you take the pain medicine?"
"Mhmm… It's starting to kinda work…" Nathaniel yawned again, his feet dragging.
"I can tell, you're dead on your feet." Ilya wrapped Nathaniel's hands around his neck, grabbing his thighs to lift him up. "Let's head back to bed."
Nathaniel quickly fell asleep in Ilya's arms, his head laying on the other's shoulder. The tips of his wings dragged on the floor a bit.
Ilya smiled fondly, holding Nathaniel a little higher to keep his wings from dragging. He tucked the boy back into bed, refilling the water glass with a flick of his wrist. He changed into cleaner clothes and then settled into bed beside him.
Nathaniel huddled close to Ilya in his sleep, able to sleep through the rest of the night with the pain medication in his system.
Ilya draped an arm across his waist, settling in for a trance- the closest thing fairies got to sleep. Normally he would get up and do housework, but it was clear that would only disturb Nathaniel.
Nathaniel awoke in Ilya's arms in the morning and held a little tighter to the fairy. "Morning…"
(What time is it for you btw? It's 2:20 a.m. for me)
Ilya blinked blankly for a couple seconds before he shook and seemed to come back to himself. "Good morning, Beautiful. How do you feel?"
(It's 1:25)
"Sore and tired… you?" Nathaniel yawned.
(Cool cool. I'm sleeping now; night!)
