(Do they have a way to contact each other?)
(Do they have a way to contact each other?)
Fig shrugs. "This is Cali. Probably going to have one or two waitresses that were trying to hit it big, but most people here thought they were above convenience stores."
(oh, idk)
“If you say so,” Marx said, “but if we get into trouble, I’m running off.”
(I think they should have walkies talkies or skmething)
"We should split up." Persephone suggests. "You and Fig head to the store while I work my handy dandy water magic without being interrupted." Saying this she glances pointedly at Marx, knowing his habit of looking over her shoulder whenever she did something. "AJ and Keenan have one of the walkie talkies, you two could take the other one, and I have mine."
Pulling off her backpack, Persephone pulls out one of the walkie-talkies and hands it to Fig.
"See you on the other side?" Fig says questioningly, looking to Marx.
AJ grabbed one of the walkie talkies and turned it in, tuning it to the group channel and pressing g a button "hey….you hear me?" She said
"Tester one two aye aye captain roger matey." Fig says into the walkie-talkie, her face a deadpan.
"Who are you?" She asked "regardless, where's are you guys? This place is practically empty."
"Fig, duh, I go to the college. And it's empty because people are dead." Fig rolls her eyes, "We're at the dam, about to leave to go to the nearest store."
Marx sighed.
“I don’t think splitting up is a goodnight ideaaa,” he said, sort of in a singsong manner. “I’m down to raid a convenience store, though.”
"I'm not gonna die, Marx." Persephone groans, "Go now before it gets dark and you get your face eaten off by an Affected."
Keenan had been wandering around the school, trying to get an idea of where everything was. Eventually he found his way to the cafeteria where AJ was. "How is their mini mission going?" Keenan asked noticing the walkie talkie in AJ's hand as he walked up closer.
“Mhm,” Marx muttered, “Bold of you to suggest I’d even let one of them that close to me.”
His face wrinkled up a little.
“I’ll make it quick.”
AJ looked up as Keenan arrived and sighed. "I dont know. Some girl named Fig had the other walkie talkie and the only info I got was her telling me that everyone was dead. I dont trust her."
"That is a bit weird but we aren't really set to go travelling again even if we wanted to leave." He answered, leaning against one of the counters.
"Let's head to the classrooms and stuff to find things we can use for weapons and so we can build some." She said, standing up and putting the device away.
"Thank you." Turning on her heel, Persephone skips into the Dam's main building like an eight-year-old.
“So, Fig,” Marx said, “Lead the way, why don’t you? We’re burning daylight.”
"Bossy much?" Fig blows a big bubble and pops it, beginning to walk away. "And what's with the emphasis on my name?"
Marx snorted a little bit didn’t answer.
Who the fuck names their child “Fig?”
“Think what you want of me, I don’t really care.”
(I’m sorry that he’s the worst)
"Okay I will, jackass." Fig says haughtily. What the fuck kind of name is Marx?
I could really use a cheeseburger right now. Persephone thought as her stomach growled. Pulling out another barrel, she began to get to work on the wire box.
(I’m sorry that he’s the worst)
(No I love it.)
(Lmao good dynamic. It goes both ways)
Marx laughed. He made sure nothing dangerous was nearby as Fig did her work.
"C'mon, catch up!" Fig yells, already a good yard ahead of him. "The zombies can wait!"
“I mean, they can’t, but okay,” Marx muttered to himself.
He jogged to catch up, still closely observing every inch of his surroundings.
"Why are you such a sour jelly bean?" Fig asks harshly, heading back onto the main road to the area where all the shops were.
Marx snorted.
“I just like surviving is all,” he said plainly.
So what, he checked behind him every few seconds, barked out commands that would increase survival, and had a very serious attitude? Seemed to be working for him so far.
Heading into the convenience store Fig doesn't even look around, just hopes up on the counter, swinging her legs back and forth.
“Oh my god,” Marx huffed, walking through and passing Fig before examining the shelves.
