"See…you were annoyed with me before you even met me…"
She says with a voice crack.
although those were my intentions
That wasn't really the thing Maylynn wanted to hear right now, but depending on what Troy said next…maybe she needed to hear it.
He shook his head. "Because I thought you were just another assassin. I see now that you had reasons for a lot of them, though that doesn't make them right." He sighed softly, dragging a hand through his hair. "But…"
"Stop leaving me on stupid cliff hangers and say what you're gonna say, you idiot"
She says looking up at him. Her eyes were red and glazed over with tears as her red cheeks glistened as the tears fell down.
"But I don't know what to say." He said with a shrug. "I'm not good at this." He sighed. "Just…stop crying? Please?"
Quickly wiping away her tears and trying her freckled cheeks, she stands up,
"I wasn't crying, stupid…."
She says harshly, not meaning to.
"I am incapable of crying"
She says putting her hands on her hips, raising her chin high with a little sniffle.
He snorted. "Yeah, sure you weren't." He replied, shaking his head. "You talk about me not having emotions, but what about you?"
"It's okay if i dont…."
She says looking over at the body.
"I'm the exception"
She says with a tiny smile
"Oh, you're the exception. The already dead, literal incarnation of death has to have emotions, but the living, breathing human isn't?" He snorted.
"Yep! You're the one who needs them the most! For me on the other hand… it's only me. I'm special"
She says forcing herself to smile and be happy now. If he were going to stay, she wanted him to enjoy his time with her.
He shook his head. "I don't need them." He replied. "I'm not supposed to." His voice was even.
"Well….you need them and that's that."
She says walking away, leaving the body for someone else to find.
"If i need them, you need them more." He replied, following her.
"Too bad"
She says hopping on certain rocks, looking like she's playing a game of hop scotch.
"I'll make you a deal." He said calmly.
"Pfft, like what?"
She says turning around, her hands were out (like a t pose) trying to not fall over.
"Like this. You want me to show emotion? You have to too." He replied, crossing his arms.
"Oh! Okay! Deal!"
She says with a smile reaching out her hand to him. If he was going to show his emotions, she had to see it. And she already was quite emotional, so it was pretty easy to say yes.
"All of them. And no faking them." He replied, not shaking her hand yet.
"Okay, and you say and/or do whatever's on your mind okay!"
She says stepping closer and gripping his hand, squeezing it tightly.
He sighed. "Fine." He shook her hand, wincing slightly. The contact hurt because of the blackened areas.
"Anyway! So where do you wanna go?"
She asked letting go if his hand, not noticing what she had done.
He put his hands in his pockets, wincing. "I don't care." He replied softly.
"Okay…..back to the house, i have blood all over me anyway."
She says as she takes a turn, cutting through the
woods.
He nodded, and followed her. His hands were still stinging, his fingertips nearly numb.
Entering her house, letting him come in, she looks at his hands, well the fact that they were in his pockets.
"Are your hands okay?"
She said with a suddenly worried look.
"Yeah…they just hurt. A lot. Because you squeezed them really hard, and they would have hurt from physical contact anyway." He replied.
"Ah I'm so sorry! I won't do that again! I'm so sorry!"
She said frantically looking around for something that might help, fully knowing there was nothing she could do to help him.
"It's okay." He said softly. "Really." He glanced down at his hands, then back at her.
"Well…instead if alcohol, so you kike tea! I have plenty if that…."
She says making a face with wide eyes, her lips pressed together just thinking about how much tea she had.
He raised an eyebrow. "Uhm…if you say so." He replied, following her.
