@gracehustle

Shifting onto her stomach, she sighed and looked around before glancing at the door to make sure there was no creepers or anything else watching them, “Well, if you think of anything you want to ask me, at all, just say it.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay nodded, and glanced at Leo, who was still sound asleep. "Did you have any other pets?" He asked slowly. He himself had had a dog at one point, and wondered if she had had any other than her horse.

@gracehustle

“What do you classify as a pet?” She asked, raising an eyebrow as she looked over at him, “We lived on a farm so there was always quite a variety of animals around, though I don’t know if you’d classify them as pets.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

He nodded. "Oh, okay. Well what kind of animals did you have, then?" He asked, looking over at her curiously. Leo woke up, blinking sleepily. He stretched, and nuzzled Delia softly.

@gracehustle

She smiled and pet Leo as she started to name the list of animals they had, “We had two horses, Lady and Rex, several cows, a pig named Max, seven very annoying chickens, our border collie Alex and a fluffy gray cat named Ash.” Delia though for a moment to think of she was forgetting anything, one last animal she forgot in her head, “Oh! And my brother had a rabbit that he showed named Tank.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay smiled. "Oh, cool." He said, watching her and Leo. "Do you have any questions for me?" He asked, stretching. Leo leaned into her hand, panting softly.

@gracehustle

“Hm….” She thought for a moment before nodding, a small smile on her face, “What’s your favorite weapon, that you’ve used or have always wanted?” She went back to petting Leo as she waited for his answer, pampering the puppy and praising him quietly.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Uhm…my gun." He replied, holding up his pistol. "It's small, so it's easy to carry, but it's actually pretty powerful. Plus it's older, and I can make the bullets myself if I need to." He shrugged slightly, setting the gun down. "What about you?"

@gracehustle

She smiled and thought, eventually shrugging, “Either my gun I have right now, powerful and mostly accurate, or a tomahawk. I learned to throw one because I thought it was fun and it was.” Leo’s tail was thumping happily against the ground and she continued to pet the puppy and make friends with him.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay nodded. "Oh, cool." He said with a small smile. "Tomahawk throwing seems like a cool thing. I wish I could have learned. Maybe if we find a tomahawk, you can teach me."

@gracehustle

“It’s difficult, but once you get it down it’s easy,” She said, nodding happily, “I can definitely teach you, but we just have to find a tomahawk first.” Throwing a tomahawk was a weird skill to know, but she had heard about it as a kid and her mom learned with her how to throw.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay nodded. "Oh cool." He said with a smile. "Although I doubt we'll find one." He shook his head slightly. "I really wish I had done boy scouts as a kid, now. Those skills would be really handy." He chuckled softly.

@gracehustle

Delia laughed and nodded, “Yeah, they definitely would. Where did you used to live before all of this? City? That’s what I’m guessing.” Leo rolled closer to her, rolling into his back for belly scratches -which she happily gave.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Yeah, in the outskirts of a city." Jay said, reaching over to pet Leo as well. "Which is why I'm surprised I've survived for as long as I have. I mean…" He shook his head.

@gracehustle

“Did you go camping or anything much?” She asked, surprised as well that he had survived so long. Most of the survivors she had met were from farms or places where they had been able to be outside in the wilderness and goof around.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Yeah, and my dad took me hunting during hunting season, so…" Jay shrugged. "It's not like I'd never survive in the outdoors before. Plus…the aliens messed with me a lot, so maybe that affected it too…" He trailed off, glancing down at the floor for a moment.

@gracehustle

She nodded, paying more attention to his hunting guess than the aliens, “Did you ever shoot anything? What season did you usually go in or what animals did you go for?” Resting her head on her bag, she laid on her side so she could talk to him, Leo still getting pets as he wanted them.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Deer, for the most part. I wanted to try hunting like…bears or something, but my dad always said "no way"." He chuckled softly at the memory. "I was so small when I was ten. The first year I went. I swear, the gun was almost as big as I was."

@gracehustle

A small smile crossed her face and she laughed, “Did you get something your first year?” Learning more about people and hearing their stories was one of her favorite things, everyone had a different experience.

@gracehustle

“Was it a doe? Or a buck?” She asked, remembering the first time she had gone hunting with her mother. Her dad was never a very avid outdoors person so she always went with her mom, the first time being when she was twelve and had taken hunters safety so she could carry her own gun while her mother carried one as well.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Buck." He replied. "I kept the antlers for like…ever." he laughed softly. Leo whined softly, nuzzling at Delia's hand. Jay glanced at Leo, and chuckled. "He likes you better than he likes me right now, even though I'm the one who found him."

@gracehustle

She smiled and pet Leo, chuckling lightly, “I have a way with animals, plus, you were the big meany that had to check on his paw remember?” Delia sighed, forgetting about the dangers outside for a moment and just focusing on the stories and the company while she could.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay laughed. "Mhm. Hopefully he won't hate me tomorrow." He said, smiling. Leo closed his eyes, leaning into her hand. Jay leaned back on his hands, biting his lower lip slightly.

@gracehustle

“So, anything else you want to know about me now that I know more about you?” She asked, watching Leo with a smile and pulling the puppy closer to her so she didn’t have to reach out as far to let him. Looking around the room, she eventually glanced at him, her hair falling in front of her face momentarily before she flipped it out of her face with a flick of her head.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay sighed softly. "Mm. Nothing I can think of." He replied, glancing over at her with a small smile. Leo was quiet. I should tell her about Killswitch. It's too dangerous for her not to know…but if I tell her… He glanced down at his hands for a moment.

@gracehustle

She nodded, eyes flicking closed as Leo trusted her enough to snuggle closer to her. As much as she tried to fall asleep at that moment, she was still wide awake, ears alert for every noise and eyes eventually opening again to check if the fire was still going, though she knew it probably wasn’t the best idea to keep going all night to draw attention to their hideout.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay grabbed his blanket and coat, and rolled up in them, laying down on his side. He put his hat back on to cover his hair, though his eyes remained open. Leo, still snuggled up to Delia, yawned and closed his eyes.

@gracehustle

“The world is so quiet,” She whispered, more to herself than him as she looked around. Quietly, she started to hum to herself to pass the time and help her fall asleep.
