A full-blown grin explodes onto Maverick’s face as he leans into her. “You’re learning to flirt, CC.” A suave wink flies her way, paired with the words. “But if we ever stayed up at night, I’d pray it’d be more than talking.” With a cheeky smile and mocking finger guns, Maverick’s eyes shine with mirth. After a brief moment of hesitation, he reminds, “You still need more sleep.”
"Wha- i mean………."
She looks up at him with her face visibly turning beat red, letting out a timy squeal like sound that was rather cute.
"Number one Mister! I already know plenty how to flirt!"
She says crossing her arms and holding her chin high.
"And second- nevermind we'll Discuss that later! Let's get some candy."
She says quickly, then turning around and looking at the shops, trying not to think about it, making her even more flustered.
"Were you like this in the beginning?" Maverick forces out between laughs. His thumb strokes soothingly over her wrist, shaking ever so slightly from laughter.
"Why of course! Just maybe not around you! Ya big flirt!"
She says turning back to look at him as she walked backward. Her hair falling over her shoulder and he faces a little. She absolutely adored the little stokes on her wrist by his thumb. She found it incredibly soothing. All she really wanted to do at the moment was cuddle up in a big comfy bed and a huge blanket with him. Just curl up in a ball in his arms as she held him. Them probably talking about crazy things because of how tired she was.
Maverick absently continues the strokes, prompting gently, “Candy.” He refrains from explaining that he adores her like this, sassy and teasing. The mere thought of opening his guarded heart and spilling his feelings sets him at unease. Besides, he doesn’t think that he can say anything right now. His throat has welled up so significantly with emotion that any word would be strangled.
They walked to the candy market, her hair dancing across her back with every small step she took, humming the song "you are my sunshine" as she did, enjoying Maverick's hand in hers. As they stopped at the shop, she leaned over a see through counter with all sorts of candy in it, then she pulled Maverick along with her inside. Her eyes lighting up along with the huge smile wiped on her face as she beamed at the shelves and boxes of candy everywhere. Yeah, she does want to be with Maverick in a cozy blanket and all, but right now….this is exactly where she wanted to be.
A few echoing chimes follow the pair inside, dancing over the numerous shelves, organized with assorted treats and crushed with splatters of color. He leans gently into her side, awe marking his face. "This place suits you." He settles on this thought, eyes lingering on the sheer amount of sweets this shop housed. So much candy. Chocolate was crammed into corners, and intricately frosted pastries preened behind the counter.
Looking up to him, leaning in a little as a smirk crawls upon her face.
"Maybe I should just stay here then."
She says picking up a lollipop and tapping his forehead with it teasingly, then skipped over to the assortment of all sorts of chocolates.
His eye narrow playfully, and he flicks her shoulder. "Of course not," he mumbles, "and we both know exactly why that is." The happy grin that blooms onto Maverick's face gives away his excitement for the night.
She whipped back around to him hearing his little mumble, but not knowing what he had said. A cute big chocolate bunny in her arms.
"What'd you say?"
She says tilting her head slightly like a little puppy.
"Dinner, remember?" The words come out in an unconfident, small voice.
"OH! Yeah, well it's only near lunchtime. Wanna grab something?"
She says walking towards him a little. Though fixated on the huge chocolate bunny in her arms.
His eyes widen as he takes in the bunny. “O-of course,” Maverick stammers, rooted to the spot. “But don’t eat that before lunch. Do you have a place in mind?”
"Oh i wont! I just thought I sould show you"
She says with a smile as she shows him the full bunny.
"Isn't it cute!?"
She says withj a little giggle.
"Oh, hmm….i don't know this place very well, so i have no idea"
His exterior melts and softens. "It's cute," he admits to the bunny, smiling now. He notes CC's attachment to the chocolate mold with amusement. "I plan to have some of it, too."
"Well then lets buy it!"
She says as her eyes light up more. Which didn't seem quite possible until then. She skipped over to the counter, dodging all of the shelves filled with candy, careful not to knock them over.
“Alright,” he resigns, laughing. The candy stacked and displayed catches his yearning gaze, as he treks past them to the counter. They slide into the small line. His hand digs into a pocket, pulls out the wallet, and begins searching for a ten.
"Here ill buy it!"
She says with a smile pulling out a ten from her top. She didn't get the chance to change, and she assumed she wouldn't be able to. She was always really overprepared with almost everything.
She handed the cashier the ten with a smile.
"Thank you for shopping here"
The little lady says with a small bow and a smile.
"Thank you!"
CC says as she grabs the bag in which the cashier had put the chocolate in, and turned to Maverick, her cheeky smile still plastered on her face.
Maverick twirls the ten between his fingers, raising his eyebrows. A small smirk graces his countenance, as he resignedly and melodramatically returns the bill in his wallet. “Lunch?”
"Yep! Where should we go!?"
She says with a little bounce, her hair falling over her bare shoulder. Her skin was still cold from the water. Well, that's what she assumed it was from.
The bag twirled as it hung from her fingers, swinging it from side to side as she did with the rest of her body, balancing on her heels.
"You get to decide," he declared, holding the door open for her. "We can just walk along and find any place that looks interesting. They have a huge range of foods here."
"True"
She says biting the side of her bottom lip slightly as she thought about it. She did like the sound of simply wandering the island with Maverick by her side as they talked about all sorts of things. The thought floated around in her mind as is made her heart flutter in her chest.
"Well let's go then! Left or right!"
She says turning to him with a smile and a little bounce.
He flailed awkwardly for a bit, momentarily forgetting left, right, north, and down. Shaking his head he gave a lopsided, bashful smiled. "Left it is."
"얼마나 귀여워"
She muttered to herself with a little giggle as she squeezes his hand, leading him down the left path.
“What was that?” He tilts his head to the side, clutching the palm of her hand.
"Hm? Ah, sorry did I not say it in English?" She says turning to him, fully knowing that she didn't say it in English. And it was pretty obvious with a mischevious smile plastered on her face as she looked up to him.
He rolls his eyes melodramatically, though a corner of his mouth tugs upward. His green eyes send her a knowing look as his arms cross, waiting.
"Fine, I called you cute. Deal with it" she says with an eye roll of her own, which was followed by a little giggle as she walked forward, leading Maverick wherever she went.
Did his chest physically constrict just now? An unbelievably bubbly emotion rose to his throat and lit up his eyes. "Aww," he said, teasing and mocking. "I'm cute. But so are you."
"I'm glad you admitted it" she says turning around with a little bounce and a smile. Yeah, it actually took a lot for her to say that to him. Though the fact that he called her cute….
She couldn't help but turn back around and hide her red face.
