(okay imma start!)
Ember walked down the halls of the school. People bustling all about.
Lunchtime was always her favorite… she got to eat and eat with no worries.
Walking into the cafeteria, her honeyed hair falling down off of her shoulders.
Sitting at a random table, where nobody was.
"Finally, I get to eat!"
She says as she digs in, minding her own business, happily stuffing her face with food.
Gabriella pushed her hair out of her face, the lights in the unfinished ceiling of the tiled floor cafetorium flickering and dancing in her light, hazel eyes. She'd just finished talking with her teacher so she was a bit late and now all the table were sat at. She stood at the end of the gym, her hip sticking out as she bit her lip, looking among the plethora of heads for an empty seat.
"Oh boy…"
Damien strode though the halls, his white backpack slung over his shoulders. He kept his head down in the slightest, though it was hard not to make eye contact with the other students considering his height. When he arrived in the cafeteria he looked around slowly. It was some bland American dish for lunch. He didn’t think he’d like it. So, he just bought a water and an apple before looking around for somewhere to take a seat. He saw a mostly empty table, just one girl sitting at it. He approached slowly, giving her a once over before sliding into a seat at the end of the table. She wouldn’t mind, would she? He hoped not. He dropped his bag down onto the floor next to his chair, one finger coming up to brush at his dangling silver cross earring.
Looking to the side, getting ready to smile, her expression changes, as she quickly starts eating again.
its one of… them…
She thought to herself, continuing to stuff her face. The plate, that once had a mountain on it, was halfway done.
Alex was in the cafeteria, and had already gotten his food. Stuffing some in his mouth, he sat down at a mostly empty table with just a few people at it. He vaguely recognized the two at it, but didn't say hello as he started eating.
Damien noticed the way the female had looked at him, and he arched a brow slightly before looking away. He glanced at the male who sat down next. But he wasn’t feeling talkative. He had already slipped up and forgotten some/mixed up a few words, so he didn’t think it was worth trying to speak the English at this point.
Gabriella looked and found a strip of a table with other people scattered at it, but only a few people. She made her way over, tapping the girl's shoulder to ask if it would be ok if she sat with her.
Looking at both of the boys sitting at the table. Why were they all sitting here? Why aren't they leaving? Scooping a huge spoonful into her mouth, the abruptly standing up, putting her tray away, and walking outside. Finding himself in the little garden outside, that was her favorite place. Nobody would come and talk to her. And that's how she liked it.
Damien reached into the pocket of his black jeans, his free hand fidgeting with the neck of his turtleneck. He took out his cellphone, checking a couple of notifications before putting it away. He noticed a new girl came and the other one went. But it wasn’t any of his business, really. He took a bite from the apple he had sitting on the table before, glancing around the cafeteria.
She was a bit taken aback by the gesture that the other girl had given, her eyes fluttering softly as she sat down anyway, hoping she wasn't making anyone upset. She took out her water, slightly pissed that her friend skipped today, well, "friend" at the least. She took out her lunch, beginning to eat cautiously, trying to knock out her constant fear of being judged.
Alex sighed softly, and looked up as one girl arrived and the other left. He turned to the male, sticking out his hand for a handshake. "Hi. I'm Alex. And you are?" He said, smiling slightly.
Damien heard the male, and looked over at him, brows raised. He was introducing himself. Must be more of the extroverted type. “I’m Damien. It’s.. it’s nice to meet you,” he responded as he shook Alex’s hand. His voice was laced with a very obvious and thick Spanish accent, and he seemed to stumble over his words a bit, like he was unsure about them.
Alex's eyes lit up slightly. "Oh! Are you an exchange student?" He asked energetically, grinning widely. "Er, if you aren't, excuse me for being rude." He gave a one shouldered shrug, still grinning.
Damien shook his head. “I don’t take offense,” he said slowly. “I have been staying-.. been living in this country for a couple of years.” He was obviously unsure of what he was saying. He wasn’t even positive he was making any sense at all.
Alex nodded thoughtfully. "Oh! I see. So did you move here, or what?" He asked curiously, taking another bite of his food. He seemed to have a sort of nervous energy on him, and something was always moving. His fingers, his eyes, his feet. Something was always in motion.
Sitting in the grass, by the tree in the shade, the stone bench in the distance. There was a pond on the campus. She loved the pond, with the koi fish swimming around. Her honeydew hair blowing in the wind, out of her face. Her crystal eyes darting around the garden. Her light skin shining in the light. Everyone was so surprised she didn't have a boyfriend…. but it wasn't to her surprise in the least. She wasn't going to be deceived by those people.
Damien nodded his head to the bit about moving here. “I did, from Barcelona, Spain. It better- it was better for us to come here,” he said, fumbling over his words a tad. His dark hair was parted down the middle along his forehead, and he pushed the strands back a bit. He glanced over Alex’s posture. He was definitely the anxious type, that was for sure. He picked up his water, opening the bottle and taking a long drink from it.
"That's cool! What's Spain like? I've never been out of the country. I mean, I want to, but…" He winced slightly. "Money issues are a thing, you know?" He shrugged slightly, one hand tapping absently on the table, and his knee bouncing a bit.
“It’s a, uh- very nice country. The people are friendly and the… the scenery is beautiful,” Damien explained, fidgeting with the sleeve of his sky blue and cloudy flannel. “I understand. It is very expensive.”
Alex nodded. "I've heard that. And the music I've heard from Spain…" He shook his head. "As a musician…do you have any idea how amazing some of the Spanish guitar pieces sound? Like…" He shook his head slightly, smiling. "And yeah, it's definitely expensive."
A smile quirked at Damien’s lips when Alex began to ask about Spain more. He enjoyed talking about his native country. “I listen to mostly Spanish music. There are a-.. a lot of good guitar players,” he agreed. “You play?”
Alex hummed softly, thinking. "Not guitar. At least, not well. I know like…three chords, as of now. I play percussion in the marching band, though. And violin in the orchestra, though also not well. I only just started." He shrugged. "There's a few others I can play, too."
(Should someone run into Ember or something ooor?)
(idk. Alex and Damien are sitting inside talking, idk about any other characters)
(Okay then)
Gabriella soon finished her lunch, going out into the back yard of the school to sit on a bench under a big, shady tree. She sat down, flickers of golden sunlight washing her skin with colour as she looked around, spotting a few others at another bench nearby. She paid not much mind to it, grabbing her notebooks and work out of her back and placing her attention on that instead after she pulled her hair up into a ponytail.
Can I?
yeah sure! just fill in the template!
(What gender do you need most right now? Because I don't care what gender I am.)
