"Alrighty then. Glad to see you're not so hip on police either. You've got a cozy place here Ms…?"

Vaughn frowned. He didn’t like the fact that his personal safe space was being filled with others. “I kill people,” Vaughn muttered, frowning heavily.

"No, I do not." Alice replied, a little stiffly.

"Oh, no, this is just a mud room darling, but of corse I'm not telling you how to get it." She smiled.

(Okay I can work with that.)
Mirage trailed off when she realized that anyone with a safe house would've captured or killed them. "Wait, so you're okay with us here?"

"Oh, neither do I." There was a stretch of awkward silence. "I saw you enter the station. Why were you chasing that dude?"

“I’m not okay with it, but I don’t hurt woman,” Vaughn hissed, body tense.

Alice sighed. "For no reason that you would believe."

"I'm pretty open minded. Try me!"

"I… I… Ummm… I don't even know," She paused, "I must be… you're here…"

"Look…" she thought for a moment. How to best explain this? "Do you read comics? Superman, Batman, the Justice League, whatever?"

Vaughn’s grey eyes were narrowe sharply. He was unable to decide if he felt more anxious, annoyed, or angry.

Jess looked up, "Why would I even reach out to Vaughn? That type of connection would do me no good I am a thief what would I need with a killer, no offense. Mirage if anything I would have contacted you, not him, at lest you can walk passed a safe door."

Vaughn exhaled sharply in obvious annoyance, snatching up his gun and leaving the back room.

"Yeah, a little."

"Very odd." Mirage commented.

(Yep, yep, I'm here.)
"And in those stories, there's always a bad guy fighting a good guy, with powers or whatnot…" she paused. "Doesn't that sound a bit like the world we live in?"

Ferran thought for a moment. "…well…yeah actually it does!" He cocked his head. "Why?"

"Do you know what I can do?" she asked quietly. "Like… what my powers are?"

"No…"

"I can read minds. Listen to people's thoughts. Anyone's thoughts."

"OH MY GOSH THAT'S FREAKY COOL DUDE!" He frowned. "Wait…can you hear what I'm thinking now?"
