She hummed and shook her head. "Whatever you say." She laughs gently. Her cheeks were still burning as she drove. She nods. "Yeah, go ahead." She rolled down her window as well, still feeling a bit warm. She had never been complimented before, so it was a whole new experience for her. She smiled a little to herself, a feeling foreign to her settling in her stomach.

As soon as the window was open, Riverpaw sighed, a quiet sound of relief as the wind hit her face. She lay her head on the window and her ears were flattened against her hair, which fluttered haphazardly around her face. She looked up at the stars and Moon, silently thanking them for helping her make a new friend.

Charlie listened to the radio, her eyes on the road. She hummed along with the soft song, her finger tapping with the beat. She loved this song. She glances over at Riverpaw and blushed a soft pink. This female was unlike anyone she had met yet. She looked back at the road.

Seeing where they were, she figured it would be another few minutes or so until they reached the outer part of the town, where the two houses would be across from each other at the end of a cul-de-sac. She stifled a yawn and suddenly realized just how drained she felt; the interaction with Charlie and all of the odd energy changes had left her feeling a tad weak. She started to drift off, hoping Charlie wouldn't be upset about it.

(I swear I replied…)

Charlie smiled at the other and hummed as she drove, glad to get out of the city for a little while. Once she saw the houses she pulled over at the others home. "We're here." Her Russian accent thick and gentle. She offered a kind smile towards the other before getting out of the car to open the door for River.

(Did you? Maybe it just never showed up for me..)

Riverpaw blinked awake, straightening and gently shaking the sleep away. "Thank you." She stepped out of the car, returning the other's smile shyly. As soon as she started to approach her cream-colored house, there was a muffled bark from the one across from it. She looked over and saw one of her dogs in the window - a familiar golden retriever face that she smiled at. She turned to Charlie and clasped her hands in front of her, glancing at the house. "W- um..would you like to come meet my buddies?" She asked. "Y-you probably want to get home now, I know, but I-I just figured I should ask. Unless that was silly of me."

She nods and smiles a little bit. "It's really not a problem." She looks towards the house and smiles a little whne she sees the dog in the window. She loved animals with a burning passion. She nods a little. "I would like that." Charlie looks towards the female and offers a tiny smile.

Riverpaw smiled. "Alrighty!" She chirped, suddenly feeling a tad excited. She always felt better when her animal buddies where involved, and now her new friend - at least, she hoped that's how Charlie saw them at this point - was going to meet them. She headed toward the house, and the retriever barked again, then disappeared from the window; he was going to wait at the door. When they got there, Riverpaw pulled a key from under the potted plant next to the front door and unlocked it. Immediately, there was a small room closed in by a screen door, so she stepped in and looked back at Charlie.

(Ah! Sorry!)

Charlie followed after her, a small smile on her lips as she walked behind River, humming softly to herself as she brushes some of her messy blonde hair from her face. She always loved animals, she practically adored them. She watched as the other grabs the key from under the potted plant before opening the door. Charlie walked int and her nose was hit with the smell of animals, a smell she loved.

Riverpaw locked the door behind the two of them. She opened the screen door and two dogs - the golden retriever and an Alaskan husky - immediately attempted to bombard her with kisses. She told them to wait as she pulled Charlie into the larger room and closed the second door. "Hi, everyone!" She held her arms out and knelt to hug her furry friends; the husky, the retriever, an American Pit Bull Terrier, and three cats surrounded her. The husky seemed happiest to see her, nearly knocking her over, and a small brown tabby jumped up onto her shoulder to join the young dog in licking the girl's face. A few other animals stood by, watching patiently, just as excited to see her home. Riverpaw giggled happily and felt her tension leave, feeling much better now that she was in her own element again.

Charlie watched from a distance, smiling at the rather cute sight. She laughs into her palm and sighed softly, looking rather happy. Seeing River relax as well was rather relieving. She worried that the time in the car could have possibly made things awkward.

"Okay, okay! Hang on, guys, I brought a friend." Riverpaw gently pushed her attackers away, though the kitten stayed perched on her shoulder, then she stood and went over to Charlie. She held her hand out, smiling wider than she had all night. "You're gonna love this, I promise."

Charlie watched as River pushed the animals away. She was so gentle with them, it was rather cute. hush now… I can't be thinking like that. She watches as the other walks to her side and offers her hand. Charlie starts at the gesture before taking a deep breath and taking her hand gently. Rivers hand was so much smaller in hers, her large hand wrapping around the slender fingers protectively.

Riverpaw barely suppressed a squeak; despite having offered her own hand, she wasn't as prepared for the contact as she thought she was. Stars, her hand is so big and..warm. She smiled, but shook her head to snap herself out. "O-okay, so, first and foremost, this is Tsunami." She made a gesture with her free hand, and the young husky sat down, her icy blue eyes looking excitedly at the newcomer. "Papa got her from the town shelter about a year after Mommy passed, so she was the first pet I ever had. She spends most of her time here but usually comes home with me; she's kind of like the leader of the place when I'm not here."
She then went on to the animals that were in the room now - The retriever, pit bull, and tabby kitten were Noble, Kane, and Cookie. There was a darker pit bull named Kilo who was Kane's big brother, a Maltese named Pepper who had her left forearm in a cast, a pretty silver tabby named Rhino, and a tuxedo cat named Dapper. There was a yellow-crested cockatoo named Charlie perched in a spot across the room, and a grey Maine Coon named Phantom, who was watching from a high shelf on a wall.
She led the taller girl through the spacious living room and into a hallway.
"The Bird Bungalow is down there, where green-cheeked conure Rory and yellow-cheeked conure Savy probably are, and there is a red-tailed hawk named Spirit, so don't be startled if we go in there. There's the bathroom next to it and across from those are the Cat Cottage and the Dog Dorm. On the other side of the house is the Reptile Rescue, where albino python Buttercup and black rat snake Cole are, Pastel the chameleon is in there too, and everyone is put in their respective areas at the end of the day. Also, my sister has her own cat, Brightheart, who comes here too but lives with us, like Tsunami." She took a breath, smiling up at Charlie. "I-I'm sorry if I got carried away there."

"Whoa…" She mutters as she gazes towards the animals, a small smile on her lips. She looked at the animals, She was almost to scared to touch them in fear of being a rather large female. She was strong, not delicate. Her weight lifting was almost 800lbs. She was only a senior. She was tall, thanks towards her Russian family heritage. She sighed and sat down carefully on the couch, letting the animals smell her. She looked towards River and smiles. "I love all of them." She replies, "Don't worry about carried away… My house…. well. Uh…" She laughs a little.

Riverpaw sat on the floor in front of Charlie. Tsunami sat next to her while Charlie - the cockatoo - flew over to settle on her leg. She tilted her head at the girl on the couch, who Cookie was now trying to climb. "Your house, w-what? Is everything okay over there?" She asked.

"My dad's really rich, and well, he likes to flaunt his money." Charlie replies as she gazes at the animals, extending her hand to those who came to sniff her. She smiled a little bit but sighed. "Basically, we live on the really rich area of town, and my owns the big mansion on the hill…" She chuckles a little.

"Wow." Riverpaw blinked. She knew only one other person that lived so lavishly and it always made her feel a little bad thinking that she and her sister were…poorer than people thought. Actually, they were fine money-wise with things they needed, but she and Sky had been quite a bit reliant on others since their dad disappeared; luckily enough, they had friends and family who were willing and sometimes even insistent to give them money and asked for little in return. Her sister worked a lot, not only to sustain the two of them but to pay back as much of what they had been given as she could.
"That's really cool. I-I don't think I've ever been in a mansion before…which is surprising considering one of my best friends lives on the 'rich side' of town as well. A-anyway, you're super lucky."
She gently scratched Charlie's neck and the bird closed his eyes and tilted his head, squawking out a quiet, "Thanks."

I'm back, sorry about that//

Charlie shrugged. "My dad buries himself in money and work, since he doesn't want to face reality anymore…" She shrugged. "Therefore, rich family, and a father who flaunts things. In all honesty, I can't wait to move out. The mansion is nice. But I miss the days where I could just hang out with my dad." She chuckles a little.

Face reality…? Charlie sounded a little less happy when she said that, so Riverpaw didn't want to pry. "W-why would you want to leave home if you miss spending time with your dad?" She asked instead.

She shrugged. "It's better to explore the world instead of sitting at home being miserable." She replies with a soft sigh. She looks around and ran a hand through her hair.

Riverpaw nodded, looking down at Tsunami as the young dog watched Charlie. "Yeah, that's fair." She should take those words to heart and stop moping around at home so much herself. A cool wave reached her, and she looked up at the tall girl, tilting her head a little. Oh Stars. "Please don't be upset, Charlie." She said quickly, her eyes showing concern. "I-I noticed when you do that hair thing and then t-the atmosphere gets all…bothered. It feels like you're uncomfortable and- and I don't want you to be…"
