"It's ok, you can call anytime, plus I fell asleep doing homework so this woke me up," She replied, sitting up and pushing her books off of her lap and onto the couch beside her, "I'm good, loaded up on enough homework to make me stay up all night though."
"Ah so I'm your wake-up call." He laughed softly and nodded "So how much homework do you have to do?" He asked, flicking his hair from his face and turning on the hotel room light so he could see a little better
Scarlett shrugged, looking over at the books and rattling off a list, "I think I have two papers to work on, a worksheet from my awesome professor, something I have to read in one of my books, and notes to read through and highlight."
"all due tomorrow?" He asked, pulling his laptop to him and looking through so.e of the emails that long distance relatives had sent
"One of the papers is due next week, but other than that, yes," She replied, nodding and opening a book on her lap after propping up her phone so she could talk to him.
He smiled and shook despite his tiredness and low energy "so you have your hands full, want me to leave so can finish?" he asked, glancing at her in the phone and knowing she was tired but determined to finish her work
Scarlett shook her head, looking at him through the screen, "In all honesty, I think you're one of the only reasons I'm still awake at this point and working, because I can talk to you and not be lonely."
He nodded and smiled, settling into a comfortable position "I'll see how long I can stay awake for then. What have you gotten done so far?"
"I have the first paragraph of my paper done and most of the worksheet too. Nothing else is done yet though," She said, pulling out the worksheet from where it was trapped between pages of a notebook and scanning over it, "I haven't really been able to focus on just one thing so I've been doing a mix."
He sighed "so a lot," he teased, glancing into the phone to see what she had gotten done so far. "That's a good sized paragraph. What's it about?" He asked "maybe I can bounce some ideas around and see if there's one you like."
A small smile appeared on her face and she nodded, looking at the paper as she tried to explain what it was about, "It's an English paper, something about some personal goal or experience that has shaped us in our lives."
"that's a cool topic, so more of a personal paper instead a full on research paper." He nodded "what have you got so far?"
"Yeah, it's more of a personal paper, but that makes it that much harder to write since I have to think of some personal goal or experience," She said with a smile and a small laugh, "So we'll see what I think up and type about."
"at it doesn't take hours of research. It just comes from your own personal experiences. Nothing fancy, you on a paper."
Scarlett shrugged and her smile grew, "You make it sound so interesting and easy, but I'm really not an interesting person, so it's quite difficult."
"you are interesting! You sing, you work with kids, you love spicy food," he listed, smiling and counting on his fingers
"But none of those things have really shaped and changed me," She replied, wrinkling her nose and smiling, "I need something that I can actually write about."
He sighed softly and shook his head "fine. Have you traveled anywhere interesting? If you didn't have the job you have now, what job would you have? Who inspires you?" He rattled off some questions, hoping one of them stuck
She thought over the questions he was listing off and nodded, "I could use who inspires me, that could give me enough to write a paper." With a smile, she looked at him and opened her computer to start typing, "Thanks Jassie."
He nodded "glad I could help," he tried to stifle a yawn "so what's next now that we have that settled?" He asked tiredly
She smiled and looked at him through the screen, "I'm either going to write my paper or work on some other work, depends on how much boredom you can handle."
"hm, who says I'm bored?" He asked with a small smile "just tired," he pulled the covers over himself and curled up on the matress comfortably
"Still, just watching me write a paper might get pretty boring," She replied, her smile growing more as she reached over to grab her paper from before and look over it.
He shrugged "as creepy as it sounds, I like watching you do normal things, I miss you and this helps dull that. Plus you're really cute with messy hair and that look of determination in your eyes." He teased, a tired smile on his face
Scarlett wrinkled her nose and laughed, shaking her head as she started to type up her paper, "You're crazy. I look like a troll with my messy hair."
"A cute one though," he laughed along with her before it turned into a yawn
"Maybe," She replied with another small laugh, his yawning causing her to yawn as well, "Though I think scary is a better word than cute."
He tilted his head "Depends on what mood your in, possibly." He smiled and closed his eyes tirdly "Scar I don't think I can stay away for much longer. Imma let you get back to work while i sleep for few hours."
Scarlett nodded, looking at him with a smile, "Alright then. Get some sleep and have fun while you're in Maine, I love you."
