If we go by this definition I can throw a party with a sign on the door saying “no blacks allowed” and as long as I didn’t hold an ideology that proclaimed my race superior, that would not actually be racist. I disagree.
Why else would…why else would someone not allow blacks somewhere…
Was deadass about to make a joke about this… but nows probably not a good time
Making room for less recognized POC?
This hypothetical scenario is so unlikely it makes my head spin. I'm more focused on current events and context, not off the wall scenarios.

Idk, um… wanting to recognize only European culture at this party?
Making room for less recognized POC?
Was that a joke?
There are Black Europeans though, I-
Of Celtic origin then.
can’t decide between laughter and embarrassment at this point
So the question is: if there's a party soley for celebrating celtic origin, can there be a sign that says no Blacks allowed without it being racist?
Well,,, no,,, because there are other non-celtics,,,
Making room for less recognized POC?
Was that a joke?
Yes. I’m sorry.
The sign however could say no non-celtics allowed and not be racist!
T_T
Oh please. That's still racist by your logic, just worded differently.
No, because I said Lin's casting for non-whites wasn't racist,,,,
Making room for less recognized POC?
Was that a joke?
Yes. I’m sorry.
No need to apologize. It showed a humorously sharp tongue.
ah lawd…everytime I come back here smh
Now let’s do another situation. I want to be a movie director. Who knows if that will ever come to be but here it is. I am making a movie dramatization of the founding of Egypt. Realizing that Chinese people almost never would get to star in such a picture, I send out a casting call making clear that only Chinese people and related cultures may apply for this movie. What do you make of this?
Weird and a bit of cultural appropriation. But uh, Egyptian movies in the past were overwhelmingly white, so it'd be nice to see actual Egyptians playing in the movies. However, if you as the director are trying to make some sort of statement and you want to cast Chinese people,,, okay then.
I don't think straight pride should be a thing. What do you think?
I don't think straight pride should be a thing. What do you think?
Tbh, it really doesn't matter. If you're proud of being gay, you're welcome to do so, if you're proud of being straight, same thing goes for that.
I don't think straight pride should be a thing. What do you think?
I don't really think straight pride is a thing. Gay pride was created because gay people were told not to be proud of themselves. There was struggle, and then out of that there was pride. Straight pride is like white history month… largely unnecessary.
True, true.
But there's a lot of straight people complaining that they don't get a month or whatever. I'm not even joking. I wouldn't have asked if it wasn't a thing. It's seriously disturbing.

and perhaps most disturbing

I think it’s down to sarcasm because they are tired of the “Look at me I’m gay!” culture thing that’s going on.
I hope it's sarcasm, otherwise it's just sad.
