Ewan nods. “Yes, but keep an eye out for these little guys. If they’re anything like a recluse, I doubt we’d be able to find something strong enough to retract the venom. That would take a bit more than luck.”
Zara screams and holds out her leg, claiming something bit her.
He runs a hand through his hair and bends beside her.
“Shhh, stay still.”
I start to whimper in pain. "It hurts…"
He takes the bug, squishing it between his fingers.
“It’s alright. It only just bit you. I’m sure it won’t be… that bad.” He rubs the remains of the bug on his pants.
I don’t want to freak her out.
“No, it’s okay. Really,” Pollux muttered, “If they are like a recluse, if the wound is cleaned out well right now, you shouldn’t be at much risk. Let me see?”
He moved his hands towards his backpack and sifted through for the med kit.
Gabe pressed his lips together as he looked over the bodies, not saying or doing anything. He'd been in places like this before, seen this much death before. It wasn't for him; he didn't like it much at all. He hated things like this, in fact. Even small things, like alcohol…whenever Abby would see abandoned alcohol in the street, she would drink it. He hated it…
Gabe shut his eyes for a second tightly, shaking his head a small bit before opening them again. He needed to stop thinking of Abby. That's what everybody always told him, anyway. But how on earth could he possibly get her outside of his head?
(Sure thing)
Asa knows that face. It’s the ‘I can’t handle this’ face. He squints at Gabe and pats his shoulder as he walks by. “Hey, kid. Why don’t you come with me? Imma go check cars and whatnot for… uh, stuff.”
Gabe looked over to him, surprised, and then nodded. “Uh…yeah. Thanks.”
I wince and look away. "What kind of bug was it?"
While walking with Gabe, Asa puts the orange flannel he found earlier on Gabe’s shoulder. He ducks to avoid a tree branch and steps over a rabbit hole. “Sooo, never seen dead people out of a coffin before?”
Goodness, that should always be my conversation starter. Imma use that later.
I wince and look away. "What kind of bug was it?"
Ewan gently pats his pocket. “Like the one we found earlier. You should be fine though.” He looks to Pollux. “Have you got this? Asa has more med supplies in his bag if you need me to catch him.”
(What if Pollux is like, the groups nurse XD like it’s not a rule or anything but everyone knows to come to him.)
"Ewan, are you leaving?" I ask, my eyes widen

Gabe shook his head. “I’ve seen them. Don’t like it, though.”
(Yeah, it says in his bio he was about to go off to med school. His role is always along the lines of medic/healer)
“Yeah, it’s fine,” Pollux repeated certainly, unpacking the rubbing alcohol he had stored.
First, he tilted his water bottle towards the bite to rinse out the wound. He then applied some alcohol and stuck a bandage on it.
“There’s not much to it. You just need to make sure it’s cleaned out well. Of course, watch for any changes though. While I doubt anything bad will happen, just do that, okay?”
Pollux crossed his arms.
“He’s not going anywhere right now. In fact, I don’t think we need to separate anymore for now. There’s some weird stuff happening in this area.”
"Okay…that gun that I found? Can I have it back?" I ask Pollux
Ewan takes her hand. “Zara, you’ll be fine. I’m not leaving.” He assures. He looks back to Pollux. “Yes. Asa and Gabriel went,” He points towards the forest, “through there and to the town. Once we regroup I won’t be having us split unless needed. Honestly, I didn’t even tell Ace to leave the group, he just did.” He sighs. “Sauka can study the insect once we return to camp. She should be able to tell us what it is.”
"So that's a yes with the gun?" I chuckle
Asa nods. “Ah, okay. I mean, I think only murders like it sooo, I guess I understand.” They leave the shelter of the trees and enter the broken, abandoned street. Asa happily jogs to a car, opening the door and peeking in.
“Oh shoot… Yeah. Thanks for letting me borrow it,” Pollux replied, taking off the holster with the gun in it and giving it to Zara.
"Thank you, Pollux. You are welcome to borrow it anytime."
Asa nods. “Ah, okay. I mean, I think only murders like it sooo, I guess I understand.” They leave the shelter of the trees and enter the broken, abandoned street. Asa happily jogs to a car, opening the door and peeking in.
Gabe followed him silently, looking inside. There were two dead bodies, a couple guns, and a road map.
Pollux got up.
“Anyone else get bitten?” he asked.
He saw a bug on his boot and immediately crushed it.
“Why don’t we keep ourselves moving? Staying still is going to get us eaten up.”
(katsumi just in one of the shops eating candy)
After searching for about five minutes he found a truck, it had rusted and reeked. There was probably a dead body in there, not to his surprise though. He climbed in the truck, there was a body of course, he heard a growl in the back, he quickly jumped back and hit his head on the ceiling of the truck, dust falling everywhere. He slowly looks back to see a dog poking his head out. It had a collar….the dead guy in the front must've been its owner.
"oh no…. lets get you out of here buddy"
He says calmly to the dog. He looks over to see a rope, he then ties it to the dogs collar, trying not to get bit.
After a few minutes he got the dog out of the truck, he could see that is was a Doberman.
"jackpot!"
He says to himself happily. After searching the truck for a little bit longer, he found an old first aid kit, a can of what might be beans.
And a knife. "good enough"
As he heads back to the camp the dogs calm, obviously trained.
I wonder if he knows what's happening…..does he know we're in danger?
"what should i name you huh?"
He says to the dog as he walks back to the beach.
"HEY GUYS LOOK WHAT I FOUND!"
He yells to the group, Azelea looking back wide-eyed
"what the he-"
"I shall adopt him…."
Elias says proudly with a big grin on his face, the dog already very friendly to him.
"Ewan, can I ask you something?" I check the bullets in my gun closely and examine it
Asa nods.
Asa takes the guns, shoving them into Gabe’s arms, then turns to quickly search their pockets. He wheezes. “Ah, geez these guys smelllllll.” He takes a lighter and pocket knife from one pocket, and a lipstick from the other. He raises an eyebrow at the lipstick. “Seriously? She was carrying lipstick during a zombie attack? Is there any hope for humans??”
"Ewan, can I ask you something?" I check the bullets in my gun closely and examine it
Ewan is momentarily distracted by the dog, but then turns his attention to Zara. “Um, yes. Go ahead, Love.” He places his hands on his hips, trying to keep eyes on the entire group.
"Have you ever dated anyone before?" I blush just a bit, hoping Ewan won't notice
If Ewan was blushing, it wouldn’t be noticeable, since his cheeks are bright red from being hot anyways. He brushes his fingers through his hair, avoiding eye contact and mostly keeping eyes on Elias and his dog.
“Ahhh, no?”
"Mkay…just wondering…" I giggle and look back at my gun. I couldn't tell if he was blushing but avoiding eye contact was one sign
Pollux rolled his eyes when he heard the conversation.
God, we’re in the middle of the literal end of the world, and people are still out here looking for a date.
