She giggled. "I'm not really the daring type," she reminded him shyly.
He pretended to shush her. "…annnd the most romantic of lovers," Rowl hopefully added, grinning.
She blushed. "Well… when you put it that way…" She squeezed his hand.
"It's about a block that direction," Rowl started, already pulling Ginger alongside him. Akin to an eager child, the boy dragged his girl down the street, eyes set on that zip-line.
Ginger hurried to keep up with him. "Hey," she gasped for breath. "I… Was… Thinking…"
"Oh no," his smile widened. "This might just be the end of the world: Ginger Albright… thinking?!" He playfully teased.
She made a face at him. "Slow… down!"
"I will, any hour now. So, you were thinking?" He shot Ginger a knowing glance, filled with amusement, as he jogged a bit faster.
"I'm… A… Singer… Not… A runner!" she groaned.
"Singers need to have good breath control," the boy deduced, logically. "So. Consider this technique refining."
"You had… to… play… that card…" she groaned. "I'm not… athletic like you."
Arching an eyebrow, he chuckled. "Do go on. Tell me how athletic and talented I am, please."
"Stop… running… Please…" She breathed.
"There, there." He gathered the gasping girl in his arms, smirking into her hair. "What were you thinking?"
Ginger caught her breath. "Do… Do you want to come over for dinner tonight?"
He gazed into her deep blue eyes, eyes crinkling. "Really? As a…" scratching his head, he tentatively ventured, "boyfriend?"
She nodded with a light smile. "If you want to, I mean."
"Of course I want to!" Rowl exclaimed, temporarily forgetting the zip-line in his excitement. Nervously rubbing his hands, his hopeful eyes sought out Ginger's.
She breathed a sigh of relief. "Oh, good!" she cried excitedly.
A genuine smile formed on his features, giddiness gleaming through his eyes. "Love you," he murmured, again.
"Love you more!" she retaliated with a huge grin.
"Oh, I doubt it," he challenged, staring her down.
She pursed her lips and stared at him right back, dramatically crossing her arms over her chest.
A lopsided grin teased his lips as he mimicked her motion, raising a brow. "We're going there?"
"Yes," she replied firmly, a smile tugging at her lips no matter how hard she tried to keep it away.
"Give me your best," he dared, leaning onto his heels for show.
"Best what?" she asked, tilting her head.
Scrunching his face, he demanded, "Show me how much you love me, Ginger."
She stuck her arms out as wide as they could go. "This much!" she said childishly, a giggle on her lips.
