"Like I said, I was terrified of confrontation and not at all what my dad wanted me to be." Maverick gulps, adjusting a strand of CC's hair in the sunlight. "She took advantage of that."

"aw how sad"
She unconsciously bit her lip mischievously and smirks
time to test things out… Have some fun.
"ugh my boyfriends a mess…"
She looks over at him holding in a smile, and sits up looking at the pond
"he's nice.. Yet protective… It can be annoying sometimes… "

"Oh, me too," Beatriz tells him, smiling a bit awkwardly. You're messing everything up, what are you doing? She says, forcing herself not to roll her eyes at her own awkwardness.

Ryuu smiles at her
"oh? Do you like it here?"
why am I doing this…. Well…. How am I doing this.

"It's definitely been an interesting experience," she says, shrugging. "Everywhere just sort of blends together after a while."

"yeah I guess that's what happens"
He says to her a little more calmly now. He looks around at her friend. Who is somehow still at the food line.
"so um… She sure likes her food doesn't she?"

Beatriz rolled her eyes. "Lure's weird. And she ships everything," she says apologetically.

Ryuu realizes what she said
"ships everything?"
He says a little confused

Beatriz starts, realizing what she's said. "Oh - Um, nevermind. That was random," she nervously laughs.

Ryuu knew exactly what shipping was, he's a major geek, he might not look it but he is. He decided to ignore it though. He looks around at the clock.
"30 minutes until class starts"

"Oh, wonderful," she says sarcastically. "I get to see that… lovely girl in first period."

"lovely girl? Who's that?"
He said with a sweet smile

"I can't remember her name, she wasn't worth remembering," Beatriz said, shrugging.

CC looks at the boy
was that to much….. I thought teasing a little would be fun but…. Did I take it to far?
She self consciously bites her lip, worried that she took is to far

Ryuu looked her in the eyes.
"oh okay…. So um… What's your favorite class?"
I wonder who it was… I'm not gonna pry though

Beatriz smiles. "I, um… I really like chemistry," she says, embarrassedly. "I - um, I used to want to be a chemist when I was a kid."

"aw that's cool!"
He shuffles his feet awkwardly while he looks around.
"so um….oh did you hear about what this school does in the summer?"
He asks her desperately trying to keep the conversation going.

Beatriz shook her head in confusion. "What do you mean?"

"oh um I- well…. in the summer they pick random students, like 10 of them I think, the teachers favorites and they take them on a little vacation for the whole summer. Its an interesting way to do things but I like it. And its a conversation starter….."
People started leaving the cafeteria, he looks over at the girls friend still with the food.

"Oh, that's really cool!" Beatriz said happily. "Lure has taken way too long, aren't we supposed to go to class or something?" She said awkwardly, fidgeting with her sleeve.

she technically ignored what I was saying…..
"oh um yeah do you want to head to class right now?"
He gets up and looks down at her

"Yeah, that's probably a good idea," she said unconcernedly. "Sorry, I'm really scatterbrained today."

"oh….. okay its fine, um do you wanna go?"
He holds out his hand to her and smiles.

Smiling gently, Beatriz took his hand, standing up from the table. She looked back over her shoulder at Lure for a moment, shrugged and started walking.

"so um whats your first class"
He asks her as they walk down the hallway, which was surprisingly full, but not to full. It was still early in the morning so the sun made the hallway look golden, along with Ryuu

"Er, algebra?" She said, almost making her statement sound like a question. She briefly smiled at how the sun shone on Ryuu. In her head, she could hear her manager saying, "gorgeous, darling."

Ryuu looked forward not minding the sun shining on his face, making his freckles more visible, his skin almost looking golden.
His blue eyes with the sunlight made a pretty goldish blue color. His ruffled up hair looked curlier in the mornings. He didn't mind it.
"oh i have history…. i think……. um i think….."
He looks at his schedule pulled out of his pocket.
"i think history….. so ummm.. se ya after class."

Ryuu looked forward not minding the sun shining on his face, making his freckles more visible, his skin almost looking golden.

"Oh. Right, then. I - I should go," she said, cursing herself. Is it physically possible to be more awkward than this? She put a hand on her forehead, dragging it down her face in exasperation at herself. "Sorry, I'm awkward today," she explained, heading into class.

Innocently, Lurestral strolls down the hallways of Hemmington High, chewing on a cinnamon roll, feeling very satisfied with herself. Yes, today was going off to a marvelous start. Absolutely stellar. She power-walks to Algebra, making it in the class right as the bell rings. Examining the class - she had skipped it yesterday - her eyes quickly snag on Beatriz. She tosses the girl a cinnamon roll wrapped in a napkin, taking her adjacent seat with a grin. "So…" her eyes flicker with mischief, "…how was breakfast?"
