Silver whistled a tune while he worked.
Silver whistled a tune while he worked.
Daso set to work, twisting and tying knots. He heard Leah humming a bit and smiled. "If your humming is so pretty, I bet your singing is phenomenal," he pointed out.
Leah smiled and shrugged, sitting down to continue the work on the rigging. A breeze blew past her as she looked towards the horizon, the vastness bound by the vault of the sky. The ocean made her feel small, but free as well. Leah turned back towards the ropes, checking that they worked.
Cicada climbed up the mast after the bottom rigging was finished, "Need any more help up here?"
"Sure, red. We could use a few extra hands." Leah replied, looking up. "You can check those over there." She motioned towards the ropes that were recently tied.
"Got it," Cicada easily walked across the beam and began checking the knots.
Daso finished his knots and brushed his hands off, enjoying the breeze for a moment. The air was so clear the higher he got.
Leah rubbed her eyes tiredly as she pushed herself up, clinging to the mast. She had barely slept since the Sirens had come. The people she had seen kept her awake. She continued to watch the water lapping against the side of the ship, the sun already beginning to sink towards the ocean.
Silver finished up with fixing the leaks and went to see if Leah was okay. "Need any help?"
"Could you see if the infirmary needs some help?" Leah called down towards Silver, leaning over the side of the beam.
( Leah: * Cough Cough* Silver )
Cicada loved being this high, "I finished checking the knots captain!"
"Well, now that we're all done. . ." Leah trailed off looking at Cicada and Daso with a mischievous grin. "Race you!" She took off, climbing up the mast towards the crows nest.
( So right now there's a war going on between Dalia (our kingdom) and another one b/c of the plague. What if Dalia still had George and he was alive. . . but the only way to get him back is if Leah does something for them )
(I'm all for it.)
"Oh no you didn't!" Cicada shouted as she also began moving towards the crows nest. She was considerably faster than Leah considering her past.
Leah continued, catching up with Cicada yelling incoherent things as she moved towards the crows nest, intent on beating her sister.
"Never gonna beat me sis!" Cicada said as she reached the crows nest, "I win!"
Leah reached the crow's nest seconds behind her twin, pulling herself in. "Fine, but tonight, I bet I can sing better than you." She said, smirking.
"I can't sing!" Cicada shouted, "I've told you this! Besides I could probably outdrink you."
"Yeah right." Leah rolled her eyes, leaning against the side of the crow's nest. "Sure."
"No really," Cicada looked at her with a smirk on her face, "You probably will never be able to beat me."
"I can beat you anywhere, any place." Leah countered, placing her hands on her hips.
"Then tonight," Cicada looked at her, "After you sing for the crew."
( Damn, they're really competitive twins. )
(Yeah, next they'll be seeing who can die the fastest.)
"It's on." She replied, narrowing her eyes competitively. "You're going down."
( Ooh, I think Leah's gonna win that one. I mean, wait what? )
"Sure I am," Cicada rolled her eyes a smile twitching on her lips.
(No I'm pretty sure Cicada is. Whoops.)
