Ava is relieved when breakfast goes smoothly and no one gets hurt due to Cameron’s spatula. She still doesn’t know what got into him. Watching him brandish the spatula like a sword had been funny and the food had been delicious. During the movies, she dozes off a few times. Cuddling up with some pillows, blankets, and Kreja had been too comfortable for her to stay fully away.
“Definitely!” She agrees at once, now wide awake. Careful not to wake her snoozing pup, she stands up.
Cameron had been snuggling with the other two the best he could, but making sure he didn't fall asleep to keep a watch on the time. He was so excited to bring them home, he wanted to go even earlier than one, but that's what he settled for.
He helped her up away from Kreja and smiled warmly at her, kissing her nose and starting to walk upstairs. He looked and felt ready to go, he just needed to get in the car and put his shoes on.
Ava smiles brightly at him before following him up the stairs. After grabbing her shoes and her phone, she’s ready to get going. “How far away is the breeder’s house?” To say that she’s excited to get the puppies is an understatement. There’s nothing better than snuggling with little balls of fluff and just loving on them. She bounces a little on her heels, eagerly anticipating the first time they get to meet the pups.
"Fifteen minutes," Cameron responded as he slipped on his shoes and grabbed his keys, bounding out of the house and popping into his car, forgetting to lock the house door in his excitement. He had her door open and the car started by the time she joined him, and he was ready to back out of the driveway and leave.
Ava hurries after him, not wanting to be left behind. In her excitement she almost completely forgets about the door. Only when she’s getting situated on her chair does she remind. “Shit, we didn’t lock the door. Give them the keys and I’ll go do it real quick,” She says, unbuckling and hopping out of the car.
"Noooo don't worry about it, this place is safe enough and Kreja will kill anyone who breaks in. Get back in," He hummed, starting the car and shifting the stick shift, looking at her expectantly to get in again. "We'll only be gone for thirty, forty-five minutes, anyway."
Glancing over her shoulder, she bites her lip. The house is in a safe neighborhood and Kreja is an excellent guard dog. She hesitates for a moment longer before getting back into the car. “Okay, let’s go.” The trip should be quick so there shouldn’t be anything to worry about.
Cameron backed out and started on his way. "So, have you thought any names for the second girl? I don't want to do another flower-based name, but I kind of like them," He said conversationally as he drove down the road.
“I’ve always liked Pippa or Piper,” Ava answers, humming thoughtfully. “It depends on her personality, I suppose.” A name will be easier to figure out once they meet the little one. “Are there any that you have in mind?”
"Aww those sound cute," Cameron cooed to her, smiling. "None at all. But let's wait, like you said. I'm sure she'll be sweet no matter what."

Ava smiles over to him, glad that he likes her ideas. “Oh, I just can’t wait to meet them! It’s been forever since I’ve gotten to play with actual puppies.” Most of the dogs at the shelter are adults so this will be a real treat.

Cameron thrummed his fingers on the wheel excitedly, and they were there before the fifteen minute mark. He got out and shut his door, checking she was behind him before approaching the front door of a particularly large house. It looked hand-built and expensive to do so.
Cameron knocked on the large doors, to wait a couple moments before it was answered. It was a pretty normal looking dude wearing a t-shirt and jeans, and he was absolutely covered in dog hair. Behind him, many dogs ran over to investigate the new people.
Ava is fidgeting with excitement the entire ride. Fifteen minutes seems to be more like fifteen hours. She hops out of the car the second they reach their destination. After flashing him a bright smile she follows him up to the door of the house. It's a beautiful place and rather large. Once she sees all of the dogs roaming around inside she realizes why the place is so big.
Cameron laughed at all the noses pressing in around the man, who chuckled and herded them back with a couple waves of his hands.
"We're glad you could make it, Mr. Cameron. Now you see why I couldn't drop off the pups. Alright… I had them around here somewhere… Come on in, and meet the other dogs if you'd like. And if you see yours, you're welcome to take 'em."
Cameron nodded at the man and stepped his way inside first, getting out of the way of Ava but barricaded by the number of excited dogs barking and sniffing at him.
Ava hardly hears what the man is saying, she's too busy trying to look at all of the adorable dogs. "Hello cuties," She coos as she steps into the house. At once, she's bombarded by wet noses and happy kisses and fur, lots and lots of fur. It's heaven. She looks around for Rosy and her sister all the while playing with the other dogs and puppies. How could she even try to resist giving them attention? "Are you sure we can't take all of them?" She asks Cameron with a smile as she pets a big white Golden Retriever behind his ears.
Cameron was fending himself to a giant mastiff who was giving him slobbery kisses and resting its entire weight against him. He grinned up at her with a laugh, shaking his head. "Nope, we can't, unfortunately."
Eventually, the man covered in dog hair returned with two wriggling puppies in his arms. One was the mostly red pup and the other covered in many small white spots. Cameron gasped and bounded forward to take them from the man, his eyes sparkling. Rosy barked noisily and squeakily over all of the commotion up at Cameron, her small tail wagging.
Ava snuggles with some French Bulldogs and a couple of overly zealous Dalmatians. "Too bad," She playfully pouts as she presses a light kiss to a German Shepherd puppy's head. When she sees the man return with the two squirming puppies in his arms she hops to her feet and hurries over. "Oh, they're too cute!" She carefully scoops up the unnamed puppy and holds her close. In return, she gets several kisses to her chin. "You are such a cuddlebug." She's head over heels in love with these two pups already.
The unnamed pup was wriggling and kissing her chin and face all over, barking with her sister. Cameron thanked the man profusely as he waved back the dogs to get back to his car. Once Cameron was back outside again, he looked forward to Ava.
"This is my girlfriend, I hope you don't mind that I brought her," Cameron said conversationally. "I just assumed you would because she'll be helping take care of them."
"Oh, it's no problem. Alright, I've got to go now, feeding time and all, yu guys have a good one! And keep me updated on them."
Ava follows Cameron out of the house and over to the car, making sure that the pup stays safe and happy in her arms. Turning to the man, she smiles at him. "We'll be sure to keep you updated. Thanks again," She tells him. "Kreja is going to love you two." She can't wait to see her baby's reaction to the little ones. The dog will be surprised and then completely delighted to have two new friends. "Are you ready to go?" She asks Cameron, ready to get Rosy and her sister back to the house so they can work on getting them settled.
"Absolutely! How about you sit in the back with them to make sure they don't get scared?" He asked as he gently set down Rosy, whose wildly wagging tail hit the seats as she stood on her hind legs to lick his face more. Cameron laughed and gently pushed her down, stroking her head. He had cleaned out his back seat just for the arrival of the pair of pups, yet Rosy just sat there like a good girl, her ears flopping around as she sniffed the seats.
"I'd be more than happy to!" She agrees at once before carefully climbing into the backseat. Setting the unnamed pup down, she works on making sure that the two are doing okay before she gets buckled up. "I was thinking about some more names and I was thinking that maybe we could give this one a Croatian name? Zore and Breskva. One means Dawn and the other means Peach." Making kissing noises, she pets the two puppies, giving them almost all of her attention.
Cameron hopped in the front seat, glancing back at them as he backed out. "I like the first one. It matches all of her spots."
The pair of pups wriggled close to one another, and they moved towards Ava slowly, starting a little when the car moved. But they recovered and Rosy stood on her lap as the unnamed stood on her thigh. The latter pup sniffed her hair and ears, her tail wagging, while Rosy barked noisily.
Ava chuckles and sweeps her hair behind her shoulders to ensure that the puppy doesn't grab it. "It's alright, Rosy," She says softly, gently stroking her ears. "You're pretty noisy, just like how Kreja was when I first got him." Training the insane dog to stop barking had been a pain in the ass but it was totally worth it. "And you're just a curious baby." She coos at the pup on her thigh. "So Rosy and Zore?" Glancing up to the front seat, she checks to see if they actually picked out a name.
Cameron glanced back at the barking Rosy, grinning and nodding. "Rosy and Zore. They're so sweet!" Zore barked softly and gave Ava's face a lick, her wagging tail moving her whole body. She settled down slowly, but Rosy just kept at it. She was going to definitely need training to stop barking. But she was just excited.
"Zore seems pretty calm so she should be easy to train but Rosy………..she and Kreja are really going to wind each other up," Ava laughs, shaking her head a little. The Akita mix may be getting up there in age but he hasn't slowed down for a second. When she decided to stop taking him on missions he lost his shit so she ended up signing him up for agility classes to help burn that insane energy.
Eventually the pair got home with the barking Rosy and calm Zore. Cameron got out and picked up Zore gently, reaching for Rosy and plucking her up too. The pups started wriggling wildly again in his big arms but he kept them still as he walked up to the house and hesitated.
"How do you think Kreja will react?"
Ava climbs out of the car once Cameron has both of the puppies in his arms. "He'll be very surprised but I think he'll be happy once he starts to get used to them," She answers, hoping that that's the case. "Stay out here with the puppies, I'll go put him on a leash so we can introduce them." Entering the house, she grabs the leash and calls for the maniac. He comes barreling down the stairs, barking excitedly. "Hey, buddy!" She clips on his leash. "I've got a surprise for you but you've gotta behave."
Cameron nodded, dipping his head a little to press two kisses to the pups' heads. When Kreja was leashed, Cameron walked in, shutting the door and setting down the pups slowly. Rosy zoomed off immediately to where Ava was with Kreja, while Zore stayed close to Cameron, whimpering softly. Cameron cooed softly and picked her up again, snuggling her close and bringing her closer to Kreja.
"He's not gonna hurt you, girl."
Kreja barks, his fur fluffing up when Rosy comes running over to him. A light flick to his ear tells him that he needs to behave. He huffs and stretches out his neck to sniff at the puppies. With a few lazy wags of his tail, he seems to accept Rosy and Zore. He barks happily before he swipes his tongue across Rosy's face to give her a sloppy kiss. "Do you like your new sisters, Kreja?" Ava asks him with a soft smile. "It seems like they're getting along." She looks over to Cameron.
Zore whined at Kreja's big size while Rosy barked noisily and got down in a playful position at the kiss, her tail wagging excitedly as she yapped in the bigger dog's face. Zore hid behind the big humans, whimpering, clearly intimidated by the size of Kreja.
Cameron rolled his eyes at her comment. "Certainly. Awww, little Zore, it's okay," He cooed, reaching between his legs to pull out the little pupper.
