(Yep! When to?)
(Yep! When to?)
(Dunno, whenever you'd like?)
(Should they see each other before Cameron leaves for Russia or after he heats back?)
(Hmmm I thought it would be funny if she goes as he's out at Russia so we could get a peek at what he's doing.)
(Alright, that sounds good with me!)
(Could you start?)
(Sure! So he’ll be in Russia and she’ll be going to his house to see where he is?)
(Yep.)
(Okay!)
Ava heads up the pathway to Cameron’s house, Kreja’s leash in her hand. It’s been a while since she’s heard from him and she’s getting really worried. One message that didn’t get unanswered is bad enough but not hearing from him for about a week is troubling. She approaches the front door and knocks. Kreja seems to pick up on her distress and let’s out a low whine.
The house windows were dark and shuttered shut, and his car was gone from his driveway. There were no barks from Lily or a familiar face answering the door. It seemed to be abandoned, with the shutters shut, but it really wasn't.
Cameron had just gone to Russia to his sisters a week earlier. He was already having a wonderful time with his family together again. And currently, as she walked up the driveway, he was running errands to a few homey shops for his father. He was dressed comfortably, and even despite it being fall, it was still somewhat cold.
Ava frowns deeply at the state the house is in. It looks abandoned. She knocks a few more times but receives no answer. This means that she has two options right now: she can break into his house and look around or she can swing by the restaurant to see if one of the employees know anything. She decides to go with option two. If that doesn’t pan out then she can come back and choose the less legal option.
Cameron hummed a soft greeting to the shopkeeper, picking up a couple onions and peppers to use in his cooking. He paid and moved on to the meats, where he picked a big sliver of meat. After that, he went home to make his sauteed meal for his waiting family, his heavy coat swishing in the wind. He felt at ease again, as he smiled around at the gray skies of his home. It wasn't the prettiest, but he had grown to like it.
Ava gives Kreja’s leash a gentle tug as she leads him away from the house. As she walks, several thoughts run through her head and none of them are good. She’s worried that something has happened to him. She arrives at the restaurant a few minutes later. Hopefully someone here will know something. She approaches the door and peers inside.
There were his cooks inside, laughing and smiling as they cooked. Everything seemed to be okay in there, but they were busy cooking, so they didn't notice her appear in the back door. Flames licked up from their pans and they cooked away, and it was only two men and the occasional waiter dropping in to fill up water cups or pick up food.
That’s a good sign at least. If they don’t seem worried or upset then there might not be anything wrong. She sets Kreja’s leash down and commands him to sit. She knows better than to bring him into the kitchen. Opening the door, she steps inside. “Where’s Cameron?” She gets tight to the point so that she doesn’t waste anytime.
The cooks perked up and was about to tell her off, but they seemed to recognize her, but they gave each other weird looks. Surely Cameron would have told her?
"He went to Russia for three months. Said he was tired of the American way of life and he wanted a break as soon as possible."
Her eyes narrow at this. “Thanks,” She mutters before exiting the building. That’s it. She’s going to fucking kill him when he gets back. What the hell is wrong with him leaving like that and making her worry. “Come on, Kreja,” Her tone towards him is unfairly sharp but she’s too pissed off to care. The dog whines lowly before he trails after her.
(Skip again?)
(Yep! To when he gets back?)
(Yeppp!)
(Who should start?)
(I am.)
It was pretty late in the afternoon, early winter when Cameron came home. He had donned his lighter apparel and found himself to be too hot in it. The winter wasn't really that bad up here. He rolled his eyes and unlocked his door to his house, flicking on the lights and looking around. He'd drop off his things and go pick up Lily, then take a nap. Or eat some stuff he brought back. So many choices. He went upstairs and set his things down, yawning and stretching.
(Okay!)
Ava, in her rage, had neglected to ask the cooks when Cameron would be returning so she's flying blind. To her best guess, he'll be arriving sometime this week and she's chosen today to check. Heading up the path to his house, she tries to think of what she's going to say. It's been three months of just waiting for him to get back so she's had a lot of time to stew in her anger. She approaches the front door and knocks. She had left Kreja at home so the dog wouldn't have to witness what is most likely going to turn out to be a fight.
Cameron rose his eyebrows at the knock and sighed, going downstairs to answer the door. His shoes were still on, there was still bags under his eyes and there was no Lily in sight. It was physically noticeable he just came home and didn't want to deal with her.
"What do you want, Ava?" He asked rather tiredly at her angry expression, pinching the bridge of his nose and rubbing it.
Ava doesn't give a single shit whether he wants to talk to her or not. "It's been three fucking months, Cameron. You left abruptly with no note, no text, no nothing. I had no idea where you were and if you were okay. I was worried sick." She crosses her arms and stares him down. "When I came to check on you and I found you missing and your house looking abandoned I thought that something bad had happened to you. The only reason I didn't come looking for your sorry ass is because one of your cooks told me where you were."
Cameron sighed and looked off into the house, listening but not answering. "Right, sorry, then. Though I don't understand why I have to tell you where the hell I'm going. You're my… friend, not my mother, not my lover. I just wanted a break, and I literally just got home. Give it to me later, I'm not in the mood." He shut the door on her, walking away into the house again. He knew if he got in a fight with her, she'd win, because yes, he should have told her where he was going. But he was gonna be just like her and not admit it.
"You know what? Fuck you, Cameron!" Ava shouts before whirling around and storming away. She's so fucking mad right now that she could actually kill him. What the hell is wrong with him? If he leaves for a week and doesn't say anything then she can understand it but this was three months. She climbs onto her motorcycle and speeds down the street, still cussing him out in her head.
Cameron waved his hand at his door, grabbing his keys and sighing. Why couldn't she just be happy he went home and shut up? It wasn't that hard. He went upstairs and grabbed his phone, telling his friend he was on his way to pick up Lily.
Soon, he was back home with the old girl in the back, and carried her inside. She was stiff from the cold and miserable again. He didn't have time to worry about Ava, through his worry with paying bills, getting Lily to the vet, unpacking, making sure everything with his leave was validated… it was too much. He passed Ava out of his mind.
(Should we do a small jump to later? Maybe when she calms down and starts talking to him again?)
(Yeah, sure. She probably wouldn't contact him first though.)
(Oof he wouldn't either lmaooo um)
