Bridge turned back to Wolf with sparkling eyes. "All…all this stuff! We could live here!"
Bridge turned back to Wolf with sparkling eyes. "All…all this stuff! We could live here!"
"That was my plan, yes," Wolf said, his smile growing as he looked at Bridge's sparkling eyes. "But we also need other stuff."
"Like what?" He asked, looking up at him.
"Clothes, bathroom things, maybe some entertainment?" Wolf offered.
"Where do we get those?" He asked, tilting his head. "I…I don't think there's a store…an open one, around here."
Wolf sighed through his nose and ran a hand through his hair, thinking. "Well…we might have to do the occasional breaking-and-entering."
"Oh." Bridge blinked. "Is…I've never done that before."
Wolf came over to Bridge and wrapped his arms around him, pressing a kiss to the top of his head. "You can stay here while I go do that if you don't want to go."
"Not…not really," He mumbled, smiling a little. "Thanks."
Wolf kissed the top of Bridge's head again, then pulled back slightly. "You're welcome. But we don't have to worry about that right now, because it seems we'll be good for a while."
"That's…that's good," Bridge responded quietly, looking up at him.
Wolf hummed and nodded, then looked around the kitchen. "I should get breakfast started. How do you feel about pancakes?"
"Good." He smiled. "Very good."
Wolf smiled and pulled back. "Then pancakes it is." He searched through the cupboards until he found pancake mix.
Bridge looked around, eventually sitting on a stool like the one in the bakery, watching Wolf.
Wolf took the pancake mix and started making the food, humming a random song as he worked.
"What…what song?" Bridge asked quietly, crossing his legs on the stool.
Wolf tilted his head as he put words to his humming in his mind, trying to remember the song title. "Warriors, by Imagine Dragons," he finally remembered.
"Oh." Bridge blinked. "I've…I've heard of it, I think."
Wolf nodded and flipped the pancake that he was currently making. "How many do you want?" he asked.
"Um…I think - I think two," He decided, looking up.
Wolf nodded. "Okay," he said, then grabbed a plate and put the first finished pancake on it. He poured some more batter for the next pancake.
"Do you cook a lot?" Bridge asked in a small voice, remembering when he'd made cupcakes at the bakery.
"Not a lot, per se, but I've done it enough to know my way around a kitchen," Wolf said, looking over his shoulder at Bridge.
"Oh." There was a pause. "Okay. I…I never cook."
Wolf shrugged and flipped the pancake. "That's alright. My brothers don't cook either."
Neither does dad. I got restaurant leftovers, Bridge thought to himself, before blinking and remembering where he was. With Wolf.
"My sister and I were usually the ones who took care of the cooking, sometimes my sister-in-law joined us as well. Rhydar can't even boil water without setting the place on fire, so he's been banned from the kitchen. Magnus just doesn't have the attention span for it."
"Oh." Bridge giggled a little, regaining his smile.
The second pancake was done, so Wolf scooped it up and put it on the plate as well. He then handed the plate to Bridge. "Here you go."
