As I always say, don't do anything that would cause the government to need to identify you by your dna, because you'll look suspicious if they have to get it because of your family members is a suspected murderer and you refuse to give it to them.

also if someone you know was murdered, don't try to suppress your grieving process. Do what feels most natural, unless of course you feel like you shouldn't tell the police anything. Makes you seem more guilty when you do that. And by that, I mean, don't talk about what you could've gotten prints from something or try to remove yourself by saying "we have a kidnapping" instead of "my baby's gone help me find her" like a normal person.
