"C'mon, we're almost out of here," Wolf murmured, squeezing Bridge's hand briefly as he led them out of the motel. He glanced around for a different place they could hide for a little bit.
"C'mon, we're almost out of here," Wolf murmured, squeezing Bridge's hand briefly as he led them out of the motel. He glanced around for a different place they could hide for a little bit.
"Okay…" Bridge agreed quietly, following him out into the alley. To the left were buildings that had already been inspected, and to the right were buildings that had yet to be inspected.
"Left is always right in my opinion," Wolf said to himself as he went to the left, hoping that they weren't walking right into the hands of the watch.
"These have already been checked, I think. We're going backwards again - see, there's the bakery," Bridge pointed out the small, lanterned door as they went past it.
"Okay, good. So my backwards logic works once more," Wolf breathed, sighing heavily.
Bridge smiled a little, still clutching onto Wolf's hand. "Do you…see anything we could…use?"
He narrowed his eyes as he looked, attempting to figure out this part of the city once more.
There was nothing much out here - a large apartment building that looked abandoned, an rusty italian restaurant, and a car park. Not much else.
"Uhhh, let's go with the most civilized spot and head to the large apartment." Wolf looked down at Bridge to see how he's doing.
Bridge looked up and nodded, smiling a little. He would be back to his old self a couple of minutes in a new bed, he knew.
Wolf smiled and let go of Bridge's hand to ruffle the boy's hair. "See? Told you it'd be okay."
He blushed some, leaning into Wolf a small bit. "You were - you were right. Thank you."
Wolf smiled and hummed, wrapping his arm around Bridge comfortingly.
(imma sleep now)
Bright sighed - a satisfied one, if not a happy one just yet - and pushed open the door of the building.
(I have to as well)
Wolf helped to keep the door open as they walked in, looking around to gauge the quality of the apartments available.
It seemed to be a pretty standard apartment building - a sign outside promised a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living room, with working water and electricity.
"Well, it's no five-star penthouse, but it could be worse," Wolf commented as he stepped inside and looked around some more. He was certainly concerned about being found again, but he didn't let his worry show on his face for Bridge's sake. He didn't need two of them worried and then inevitably start getting spooked by their own shadows.
Bridge nodded, pointing towards the stairs for the two to go up.
"Okay," Wolf said with a relieved sigh before heading over to the landlord's office to see if there were any keys he could snatch.
"There's one here," Bridge mumbled quietly, taking one from inside a pencil jar.
"Alright, keys found, if in a bit peculiar spot, but found nevertheless. Now to find the door they open," Wolf said, running his hand through his hair.
"Um…301. Third floor," Bridge said, still nervously holding onto Wolf's hand as the two began the climb up the stairs.
Wolf nodded and silently made the climb with Bridge close to his side, murmuring to himself in random languages to help calm his nerves.
Bridge looked up at him, curious but silent, until they reached the door. He was about ready to get in a bed with lots of blankets and never come out for around a thousand years.
"Let's see what's behind door number one," Wolf muttered as he took the keys and unlocked the door, then swung open the door.
It was much the same as the motel, but with seperate rooms this time. It opened on a simple living room, with a couch, rug and T.V, and branched off into a little breakfast bar with a kitchen. There was a door behind the couch that probably led to the bedroom.
"Well, it's more homely at least," Wolf commented as he stepped inside and dropped his bag by the door.
"I wonder if it has any more blankets," Bridge mumbled to himself, opening a closet door and grinning as a large, soft blanket fell out and halfway on top of him.
Wolf laughed softly when he saw Bridge,, shaking his head. "You're such a dork," he chuckled.
Bridge blushed a little as he gathered up the blanket in his hands. "Is…is that good?"
