"k, I'm guessing theo told you?" Lindsey texted back
"yeah," Jas stood and gathered his stuff "ready to go?" he asked scar, opening the door for her

She nodded, standing up and walking out the door. “Thank you,” She said before pulling out her key and locking the door. Scarlett looked to Jassie as to what way they were heading, towards the restaurant? Or somewhere else to meet Lyndsey.

"Lindseys saving is a seat at the restaurant." He explained, reading her mind "we might go to her house to have a bit more privacy to talk though, you ok with that?"

“Yeah, that sounds alright with me,” She said, nodding and heading down towards the restaurant with him. Her eyes flicked around the street as they went, hands swinging loosely at her sides.

Jasper took her hand in his, "he loved the darker sides of fairy tales, always wanting them to get more gruesome and then comparing them to what they've become now," he explained softly, smiling nostalgically at the memory of his little cousin

Scarlett smiled and shook her head, happy that he seemed a little happier, “Strange, but I can’t say it wouldn’t be interesting to listen to.”

He nodded "you would enjoy loved hearing him retell the stories. He had this odd voice that made anything and everything intriguing. We used to sit outside under the shade of the forest and tell stories all day nonstop."

“Maybe you can retell some of the stories to me,” She suggested, shrugging as she tried to imagine Jasper as a little kid listening to stories.

He thought for a moment before smiling and telling one of his favorite versions of Alive in wonderland, one that his cousin made up. "He usually loved to add romance into his stories so in Alice in wonderland, alice falls in love with the mad hatter."

A smile crossed her face and she nodded, listening intently with a happy look on her face, “Alice and the Mad Hatter, interesting couple but I can see it happening.”

He nodded "mad attract the madder," he quoted with a laugh. "He was a story teller, an inspiration for the weirdest,"

“Was that what he wanted to do when he was older as a job? Be a storyteller?” She asked, chuckling lightly at his quote, “Mad definitely do attract the madder.”

Jasper shook his head "no, he wanted to be a physical therapist, helping those who couldn't independently walk or physically function right."

She nodded, looking around the city as they neared the restaurant, “That’s a good job, and from what you’ve told me about him, I think it would fit him.”

He nodded "he loved the training portion. I'm sure he would've loved the actual job." Jasper sighed softly and opened the door to the restaurant for her

Before she went in, Scarlett pressed a hopefully comforting kiss to his cheek and then made her way inside to find Lyndsey.

He smiled softly and followed her in, looking for his cousin.
Lindsey stood from her spot on the booth and hugged Jasper tight, burrying her face in his shoulder

She let the two of them hug for a moment, heading towards the booth so the cousins could have some time alone. Sitting down, she looked towards them, feeling very out of place since she wasn’t feeling the same sadness they were.

Jasper led Lindsey to the booth and led her cry on his shoulder for a few more seconds before pulling her away a bit "did you take a leave from your job?"
Lindsey nodded "yeah…oh God I'm sorry…I..I'm sorry…h..how are you guys doing?" She sniffed, fixing her hair and glancing over at Scarlet with a small smile

Scarlett offered a small smile in return and shook her head, “Don’t worry about me, it’s you two that I want to know how you’re doing. You, Jassie and Theo knew him so much better than I did, him passing away is going to be so much more difficult to you three than it will be for me.”

Lindsey nodded and whiped her face "I'm guessing he told you about the stories and his upside-down stories?" She asked with a laugh

“Are the upside down stories the fairytale stories by any chance? Because yes, he did,” She said, glancing at Jasper to see if she was being helpful at all.

Jasper nodded and smiled softly
Lindsey's smile was a bit Shakey "so he told you about the romanticized Alice hatter story too?" She sniffed and shook her head "hopeless and helpless romantic, this one." She teased

“He did tell me about that one,” She said, smiling, “Alice and the mad hatter, now if that was in the real story, things would be quite a lot different I’d think.” Scarlett was just trying to be helpful at this point, seeing that just talking to Lindsey was helping.

Lindsey's laughed through the sons and nodded "thatd be interesting." She managed, giving Jasper a grateful nod as his rubbed her back while listening to the two talk

She smiled and looked around the shop for a moment, hands tapping against the table, “What was your favorite story he told?” From the ones Jasper had said, the Alice in wonderland one interested her the most, but she was curious to see if there were any more stories she hadn’t heard about.

Lindsey nodded "that's a favorite. I've always personally liked the snow white one. He always twisted it so that snow-white was an assassin and fell for the huntsman in the end."

“Now that’s a twist I’d like to hear.” She tipped her head to the side slightly, curious, “What about the dwarfs? We’re they bad too?”

Lindsey shook her head, getting into the conversation without crying "nope they were working for the queen all along, wanting to kill snow white as well."

A small smile flashed across her face and she nodded, “He must have been really good with coming up with twists and stories, I never would’ve thought to have the dwarfs working for the queen. Does Snow White still fall into her sleep or whatnot?”
