She stood rather calmly, begging herself to stop shaking.
She stood rather calmly, begging herself to stop shaking.
Eventually he rubbed the back of his neck and stood right in front of her, crouching down and gently circling a hand around her waist so he could pick her up. He stood back up and fluffed out his wings, “You can hook your arms around my neck, I don’t want you to fall.”
She quickly did as she was told. "Thank you," she whispered.
“I’m your guardian angel, it’s no problem,” He said softly, his wings fluttering slightly and lifting them into the air just above the ground. He then closed his eyes, turning himself invisible and trying to make Megan as well, “Is it working? Are you invisible?”
She looked down art her bid and saw it wasn't there. She gasped. "Yes!" She gripped around his neck tighter in surprise.
He smiled and flew a little higher up, “Then I guess this will work, are you ready to fly?”
"N-Not really," she stammered nervously.
“Do you want me to go back down?” He asked quickly, not wanting her to be scared or worried that he might drop her.
"No… I trust you," she replied.
He nodded and looked around before flying higher in the air, his grip around her tightening as he slowly started towards her house.
She pressed into him, squeezing her eyes shut as the wind snapped around her hair.
Fyn was careful to make sure no one saw them as they were flying, his arms holding around her protectively so she didn’t fall. Being invisible helped immensely but he still took the less used routes.
She whimpered quietly, clinging to him. An evil little thought popped until her head. Fall…
“You’ll be alright Megan,” He comforted her when he heard her whimper, “I won’t drop you, I promise, you’re safe.”
Fall… Fall… Fall… She closed her eyes tighter and tried to ignore the voice.
He flew just a fraction faster than before and looked around for her house, “I think we’re almost there, but I don’t recognize the house just by the roof.”
Fall… Fall… Fall… Fall… Fall…
She opened her eyes quickly. "There," she pointed to one in the distance. A rope was draped around the chimney.
He nodded, already swooping down and aiming towards the house’s backyard, “I’m going to land behind your house, I don’t want anyone getting suspicious or seeing you just appear randomly.”
"Okay," she agreed quietly. "That sounds good."
He flew level for a little bit longer before tipping down slightly, trying to find a good spot for them to land, “Are your parents home already?”
Meghan looked at the empty driveway. Her mother always got home first and refused to park in the garage they had. "No," she answered.
Fyn nodded and tightened his grip around her as the decent steepened and he aimed for their backyard, slowing them down with his wings as he did.
Her stomach twisted anxiously. "Oh…"
“I got you, I won’t drop you.” He faned out his wings and they slowed dramatically as he touched down in their backyard, setting her down in the grass softly.
Her legs were shaky and hardly managed to hold her up at first.
He saw her legs weren’t the sturdiest and he kept an arm around her gently until she got her feet under her then let go. As soon as he took a tiny step away from her she turned visible again, though he stayed quite invisible.
She gasped softly. "Oh, wow," she murmured.
“Everything alright?” He asked gently, wanting to make sure the flying had scared her or anything.
"Yeah," she whispered. Her hair was wind blown and her cheeks were a healthy red.
He smiled and gently set a hand on her shoulder, though she didn’t disappear again, “Then should we go inside.”
