The whole time he was nervously fidgeting with his hands, trying his best to stop them from shaking.
Eventually, Kyle had to go to the bathroom, much to his dismay as he didn't want to move. He slowly sat up.
Caleb looked up at him but stayed silent. He didn’t want to make things worse.
He stood, wobbly on his feet, and slowly as the world was blurry and spinny, walked the furthest he could get around Caleb, gently shutting the door to the bathroom when he got there.
He hid his face in his hands. “Dammit Caleb, of course you somehow fucked everything up” he whispered to himself angrily.
Kyle spent a little while in the bathroom, not doing anything important just leaning against the sink trying not to cry. His eyes were already red and puffy and tear stains lined his cheeks.
He took in a shaky breath, trying to calm himself down, spoiler alert, it wasn’t helping at all.
Kyle came out the bathroom a moment later. He grabbed one of his own jumpers, one he hadn't worn for months since he always wore Caleb's, before slowly walking back to the couch.
Caleb got the message, loud and clear. He stayed quiet still, trying his best not to break down. This was maybe the worst thing he could imagine happening.
Kyle hugged his pillow tightly, closing his eyes to stop the world rotating. His was facing Caleb this time, though, but his face was hidden by the pillow.
“Fine, I get it, for whatever reason, you hate me. I won’t bother you anymore.” He said before he got up and left the room.
Kyle whimpered softly before breaking down after he left. He hated this. He hated it so, so much, "I-I'm sorry…"
Caleb closed the door behind him, instantly sliding down to the floor. He could no longer control how badly he was shaking, or how much fear and sadness he felt. At least when he was alone, he didn’t have to put up this front that everything was okay.
Kyle wanted to yell, to scream. He wanted to destroy something, anything. A glass, a table. But mainly he wanted to destroy himself. If he was gone Caleb didn't have to hide phone calls, Dark wouldn't have to deal with him. And with his powers? It would be so fucking easy…
((Aaaaaand I’m actually crying, this isn’t okay))
“Caleb?” He heard her whispered voice.
“Go away, Eddie” he mumbled, refusing to look at her.
The girl sighed, kneeling down next to him, pulling him into her arms. “It’s okay, Caleb, you don’t have to be strong”
He clung to her tightly, tears filling his eyes. “He’s the only good thing that ever happened to me, Eddie, and I made him hate me. How on earth are things going to be okay?!”
(AnGsT iS fUn…. NOT)
Kyle looked down at his hands, seriously contemplating it. He'd be out of everyone's way. Sure, he'd miss Caleb, but it would be for the better… right? Yeah. Yeah of course it would.
Eddie ran her fingers through Caleb’s hair. “Please, just try and calm down. We both know you’ll tire yourself out after awhile.”
As much as it soothed him, it didn’t stop unwanted thoughts from creeping into his head. “Eddie?”
“Yeah, what is it?”
“Maybe…things between me and him were never meant to last. Maybe this is how it should be”
Eddie was quiet for a second before literally backhanding him.
“Ow! What the hell was that for?!”
“Honestly Caleb you’re a fucking idiot! That boy loves you, and I know you love him just as much. So you better fix things! I don’t care how much work it takes. You get to live your life, and I’m not going to watch you live in depression for your whole life because of this!”
A small, tiny spark of ice flickered in his palm. Fuck. Could he actually go through with it? Maybe if he talked to Caleb… no. He was hiding things and keeping secrets and… and cheating on him. More tears rolled down his face as another spark flickered and went out. Apparently he couldn't even die properly.
“Go talk to him, Caleb!”
“He doesn’t want to see me”
“Caleb, I will actually posses your body forever if you don’t go talk to that boy right now” “Jesus, Eddie, I’m going!”
He got up and she was gone. He wiped the tears from his eyes and opened the door.
Kyle didn't register the door opening, too wrapped up in his own dead to realise. He was still crying, still debating, still wanting but not being able, "You can't even do this right… no wonder he doesn't love you anymore…" He whispered.
Caleb slowly stepped towards him, “Kyle?”
He vaguely registered Caleb speaking and just whimpered in response, still looking at his hands.
Caleb sat down next to him, gently wrapping his hand around Kyle’s. “Please…don’t do it”
Kyle shook his head a little, "P-Please… p-please it'll fix e-everything…"
“No it won’t, there’s nothing you need to fix. And even if you think there is, this’ll on,y make things worse. Please…don’t leave me”
He screwed his eyes shut, "I-If I go… y-you can…" He chocked on a sob, "W-Who were you t-talking to on the p-phone?"
Of course that’s what this was all about. “It was just my sister, I promise. If you want to call her yourself to make sure, go ahead. I’m so sorry…I never meant to hurt you”
Kyle shook his head, gently pulling his hands out of Caleb's to hide his face. He nearly fucked their entire relationship up because of a misunderstanding. He really couldn't do anything right…
Caleb gently pulled him into a hug, running his fingers through Kyle’s hair. “It’s okay,”
"N-No. N-No it's not," He got out through sobs, "I-I'm s-so sorry. Th-This is all m-my fault I-I didn't mean… I-I just thought…" This is all your fault… you should have done it while you could…
