I'm sitting in study hall in the Commons (also where we eat lunch) eating my lunch because I'm hungry as heck even though it's only ten and I have lunch in literally eleven minutes

Today was an eventful school day.

There was an ambulance and fire truck at school during lunch (wasn’t for a drill, it was a serious thing.) But I think all involved parties are alright, so that’s good.

we had a fire drill in the middle of math and we kinda just went around our business for a solid three minutes before the teacher looked up from her phone and said 'hey guys line up let's go outside'

In our school we just get up and rush out before the teachers have the chance to do something. But they changed stuff this year so the teachers have to be the first ones out instead of the last

public schools have mostly given up on functioning well, I think

All of the public schools I’ve been to are good schools (for the most part.)

My school was on the news ans they were talking about how bad it is and hoe many fights there are, and half of the footage they showed was from a different school… we love how accurate news reports are.

well, yeah, the actual education there is pretty good compared to a lot of schools especially the one I go to, but student life is a whole mesS

im on holidays so education isn't EVEN in my thoughts AT ALL

hi, american public school system, i'd like to wake up at a reasonable time please

Waking up at a reasonable time means going home at an unreasonable time. I get home at 6 every day and I hate it.

no, see, what could happen (for my school, at least) is:
every class is 90 mins long. we could cut 15 off of each and start school a whole hour later at 9:15 (we have a/b schedules). one hour. an entire hour. thats a lot of sleep

Schools have a mandatory amount of hours they have to be teaching. So you'd have to make up those 180 hours you're shaving off of a normal school year

30 extra days of school if we used the system you just came up with

Oh boy. So, 6-12 starts at 7:30 and K-5 starts at 9 or something and apparently IT USED TO BE THE OTHER WAY AROUND!! Because little kids get up earlier naturally. And then they switched it for some reason

Uhm I have a test this period (8 minutes til it starts ahh) and I haven't paid attention at all and I'm nervous

I either did pretty good or really bad. I forgot how to do a type of problem so I guessed and it might be right it might not be. But there were a lot of them

I’ve got two tests coming up (not today); math and history. History I’m not so worried about, it’s more math I am but I’ll just need to try my best and get studying

i just remembered i have a book im supposed to be reading and i left it at school and im on holidays so thats gonna be a fun one to explain to my english teacher…
