(Lol rip Marco)
Lucas looked up at Marco and nodded, carefully getting to his feet with Skye.
Skye sighed, "I vote we get a few miles away from here first, we can train before after we set up our next camp." he said softly.
"Alright…" Lucas helped to pick up their things and hesitantly got onto Skye's back once he'd transformed.
Skye let the other settle, aware of his discomfort.
Lucas got a little more comfortable once they got moving and held onto Skye's fur so he wouldn't fall off.
Skye relaxed into step as Marco led the way through the air.
Lucas simply kept quiet throughout the ride, waiting for when they would be stopping.
They kept it up for a few hours, before they slowed, the sun getting low in the sky.
Once they stopped, Lucas got off and gathered some things to make a fire. He was a bit nervous to try using his magic again, but he still successfully lit the fire.
Skye smiled at him, sitting down near the flames and unbuckling his sword straps, laying the sheaths in front of him, before drawing the blade.
Lucas hugged his knees to his chest and stared at the fire, as he was prone to do. At least I know I can still use my magic..
Sky hummed, pulling out a cloth, and a rounded stone.
"What're you doing?" Lucas asked quietly, looking over at Skye.
"Maintenance" he said, picking up the blade, beginning to use the cloth to get rid of all the spots and smears on the violet and silver metal.
Lucas watched curiously. Honestly, the blades made him vaguely nervous, but he put it out of his mind.
Skye kept polishing, lifting the blade to see that the sun shone off of it, revealing ever nick in the egde.
"Where did you get them?" Lucas folded his hands in his lap, watching intently. "The blades."
Skye looked up at him, "To be honest I don't know where they came from. All I know is that they used to belong to my mother, and she would never sell them for anything."
"Mm…" Lucas was quiet for a little while. "I don't think my family ever owned any blades. W-Well, other than razor blades… I had some of them."
"Like I said, I have no idea why my mom had a pair of swords lying around the house." said Skye.
Lucas nodded, his eyes flicking across the edge of the blade. His hands itched to grab and it use it how they knew best. Sharp… they'd be good for- no! Stop thinking about that!
Skye finished polishing the one, then picked up the rock, using it to sharpen the blade.
"J-Just to let you know, you probably shouldn't let me handle anything sharp. I… I don't trust myself with them." Lucas closed his hands so he wouldn't do anything drastic.
Skye looked up at him, before nodding sadly.
Lucas crossed his arms tightly over his chest, not trusting his hands. Part of him really wanted to cut into his skin again, but the other part was screaming that it was wrong and he shouldn't do that to Skye. Lucas looked down at the partially healed wound on his forearm where he'd cut deep with his pocket knife just a few days earlier.
Skye hummed in concern, but didn't stop. His weapons needed to be cared for.
"Skye… don't be alarmed, but you're probably going to have to hide the blades at night. I'm not sure if I can control myself."
Skye nodded sadly, "I will if you need me to." he said softly.
"T-Thanks… I just really don't want to do something that'll hurt you…" Lucas knew he could use healing magic on himself, but he never really wanted to.
Skye nodded, continuing with his blades.
