Lucas hesitantly got to his feet and made his way towards Skye, cowering slightly.
Lucas hesitantly got to his feet and made his way towards Skye, cowering slightly.
Skye watched him, unsure of what to do, knowing full well he'd made a mistake.
"I-I'm sorry…" Lucas said quietly. "It's really not your fault, I-I just got scared b-because I was trapped, and… you know…" His voice trailed off.
Skye looked up at him, "I should be the one apologizing, you told me about it and I wasn't careful… that's on me and I'm sorry…"
Lucas sat down on the ground relatively near Skye. He still kept a bit of distance for the time being. "You were asleep… y-you weren't trying to scare me or anything."
Skye hummed softly, not making any move towards him. "I still should've made sure you could move away…"
Lucas kept quiet and stared at the ground, unable to find any other decent arguments. I wish it didn't bother me so much… "I'm… it's okay…"
Skye hummed softly, "I hope you can trust me again….." he murmured.
"I-I do trust you! I know you wouldn't intentionally try and trap me…" Lucas fiddled with his hands, still unable to make eye contact with Skye.
Skye looked up at him, still on edge and worried about the other.
"I… I really wish I knew of some way to get over this fear, but right now… I-I, uh, I'm sorta stuck with it. I'm really sorry about it, since I know you like physical contact and all…"
| "Hey, it's okay" he said softly, noting that Marco had moved away. "It's not your fault… |
Lucas nodded. "I'm trying to get over it, but it's harder than I thought… I-I'm just gonna have to ask you to be patient with me…"
Skye nodded. "I'll wait, as long as I have to for you.."
Lucas's face flushed and he stared intently at the ground, his heart pounding. "I-I… thank you…"
Skye nodded. "Always."
Lucas waited for a moment before moving a bit closer to Skye and loosely holding his hand. That was about as much as he was comfortable doing at the moment.
Skye smiled softly, wanting to move closer, but knowing full well that was a bad idea.
Lucas continued just watching the grass, flustered. He figured that the strange feelings were because he liked Skye, but he didn't know how to handle them. The pink puffs of magic returned yet again, appearing and reappearing mostly around Lucas's head and heart.
Skye watched the pink puffs of magic curiously, his eyes tracing over Lucas as they flashed around him.
Lucas's face flushed more when he noticed Skye watching him and turned his head away. The magic gradually became a deeper and deeper pink.
Skye hummed curiously, but didn't move any closer.
After several minutes of just holding Skye's hand, Lucas gradually moved over to lay his head on his shoulder.
Skye smiled, still not making any movement to touch the other.
Lucas was glad that Skye was being patient with him, but the whole process still made him anxious. The pink magic still hadn't faded.
Skye hummed softly, letting the other do as he wished.
I think this is probably as far as I'm going to be able to go today… He thought to himself, the pink magic dulling and gradually fading.
Skye hummed softly, letting the other stay where he was, even though he wanted to hug him tightly.
(It sucks for Skye because he's a hugger but Lucas is just like please do not aaaaaaaaaa)
Lucas managed to relax after a bit, but never attempted to move any closer to Skye than he already was.
(How do we move the story forward from here?)
(Leave it to me!
Marco: Long sigh Why am I here again?
Me: Yeets Marco back into play
Marco: Glares at me)
Marco sighed, finally getting up. "We should really keep going, or train at the very least." he said.
