“Decorations were done, right? I think we dealt with those… The venue, of course, is booked,” Daisy mused, going through a list of things in her head. “The food other than cake was ordered, also.”

“I think we’re good,” Arvil hummed, running a hand through his hair. “We also have a photographer. We’re good to go.”

Deleted user

“All right,” Arvil nodded. “Don’t stress about that too much. You’ll get it done.”

Deleted user

“You’ll get it done,” he repeated again softly. “It’s going to be beautiful, okay?”

Deleted user

“I doubt any dress would look ugly on you, love,” Arvil chuckled, shaking his head.

Daisy snorted and raised her eyebrows at him. “That’s not what I was saying, Arvil. I just meant that a dress might be ugly, but I’m not going to buy it. I’ll buy the one I like best.”

Deleted user

“You’d better,” he grinned at her. “Get the one you like the most. And if it’s too expensive, let me know, even of you can handle it.”

“The bride’s family pays for the dress, so the bill will go to my parents. They’re fully aware of that fact and have been saving up for my wedding dress for years, even since I was a teenager. Trust me, Arvil, we will not need your help paying for it. But thank you,” she said softly, her smile widening a bit.

Arvil felt a little sympathy for that fact. Having your parents want to marry you off from such a young age…

“All right,” he hummed in response, looking up as the waiter arrived with their food.

Daisy glanced over in the direction Arvil did, then gave the waiter a quick smile as he set down their food. She thanked him, then picked up her fork.

“This looks amazing,” she mused, taking a deep breath of it. “And it smells really good, too.”

Arvil nodded in agreement, looking down at his food and picking up his fork.

“Hope it tastes as good as it smells,” he looked back up at her teasingly. “Care to give it a taste?”

Daisy blinked as she looked up at him, raising her eyebrows. With a deadpan expression, she took a bite of her own food and shoved it into her mouth. And then proceeded to stick her tongue out of her now-full mouth.

Arvil laughed at her reaction, grinning cheekily at her. When she stuck her tongue out, he quirked an eyebrow.

“I am going to refrain from making a comment about that,” he told her before taking a bite out of his food.

Daisy blinked, confusion crossing her features for a moment. Then she remembered what he’d said about her sticking her tongue out, and her cheeks burned pink. She pulled her tongue back into her mouth and kicked him under the table — gently, of course.

When she kicked him, Arvil laughed. He kicked her back just as gently. “You remember?” he teased. “Good. You’ll think twice before doing that. Now, wouldn’t you?”

Deleted user

Arvil winked as he took a bite out of his own food.

“You love this insufferable tease,” he chuckled after swallowing the bite. “Don’t you?”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Daisy made a noncommittal sound in her throat, her cheeks tinted slightly red at his question. She took another bite of her food as her gaze roamed the room, basically everywhere but his face. Hopefully, it just looked like she was looking around.

Arvil quirked an eyebrow at her, at the pink cheeks and the sound she let out. He let it slip by, not poking it with questions. It was just a joke, and he knew she thought so, too. Even though maybe, just maybe, he wanted her to say yes.

Daisy looked back over at Arvil once her heartbeat had gone back to normal. She gave him a small smile then took a sip of water.

“So… How have you been, Arvil?” she eventually asked.

Deleted user

Arvil looked back at her, swallowing the drink he’d sipped.

“I’m fine. The usual,” he finally answered with a shrug. “What about you?”

Deleted user

“It’s… going slow these days,” Arvil admitted honestly. “I had to fire a guy yesterday. Worst encounter ever.”

Deleted user

“He was lazy. Three months into the company and he was providing absolutely nothing, save for one invention the week he joined,” Arvil explained. “I have them go on trials for a week before determining whether they’re fit for the job or not. He turned out to be very good at throwing a fit.”

Daisy pursed her lips and slowly shook her head. She sighed, leaning back in her seat.

“That’s ridiculous… Some people these days think they just go to work to have fun, not to do what’s required of them,” she muttered.

Deleted user

“It’s how people are,” Arvil shrugged. “Sometimes they think everything should be handed to them on a silver platter, even those who aren’t born from a rich family.”
