Don't notice me, don't notice me, Laura begged silently.
Don't notice me, don't notice me, Laura begged silently.
"Multiple reasons. Mostly self defense. Ya know, in case someone tries to rape me in a back alley while I'm walking home from school. Just slit their throat and get out of there!" She laughed. To say she was crazy was an understatement.
"They should send you back to that asylum, god!" The jock crossed his arms, huffing.
(Could you make one of the guys notice her, Fraust?)I
Laura's grip on her books tightened. An asylum?!
Lillian didn't mind Belle, "You need to be sent to an asylum. So scram!"
"Yeah, sounds about right. However, counterpoint, you're not in trouble unless you get caught. So until I do, you're stuck with me. So I recommend you listen to me if you don't want to get hurt." Her eyes flicked to the hoodie in his hand. "Now, can I have that?"
(Sure?)
Lloyd stood close to Lillian, cowering beside her. "Whatever… I don't want it anyways." He threw the hoodie at her. "Hey, isn't that Taylor's friend, Trash?" Asked one of the jocks. "They're not friends, Jake." Taylor's boyfriend piped in.
Laura winced and backed away a step.
Lillian stepped her place in front of him, "You guys better leave. Or I things may get ugly."
The guys scoffed, but eventually decided they weren't worth it and left. Lloyd was shaking violently and had his wings wrapped around himself so they at least weren't extended and painfully noticeable. Of course, they still stuck out like a sore thumb.
"Lillian, y-you don't have to do this…" Laura whispered faintly.
Lillian turned back at Lloyd and kneeled down. She was shocked at the wings, but wasn't going to push him right now, "Are you okay Lloyd?"
Lloyd opened his mouth to say something, but ended up staying silent. He let his wings relax a bit, though.
Rick, Taylor's boyfriend, grabbed Laura's arm tightly as he passed her. "Watch your back, trash," he hissed in her ear before leaving.
Laura hurried away.
Lillian watched Laura rush away. She would deal with that later, Lloyd needed her attention right now, "Hey. Hey, your okay. You don't need to explain yourself, but let's get someplace more private."
Laura found her hideaway space – the janitor closet in the 300 wing. She shut the door and cried softly, her fingers trembling awfully.
Lloyd nodded nervously and quickly followed Lillian to a more secluded place. He was clearly panicking and was rather close to tears. This was definitely not what he was hoping for today.
Lillian took them into one of the janitor closets she had the key to. It was empty, thank god. She looked at Lloyd, "Are you hurt anywhere? Do you need a hug?"
"P-People weren't supposed to find out…" Lloyd whispered shakily, his eyes distant and full of fear. "They couldn't know… and… and now they'll kill me…" Stop panicking… please, not now… He blinked away tears, his breathing faster than it should have been.
"No one's going to hurt you okay?" Lillian said gently trying to comfort the younger male, "I promise you that much."
"How… h-how do you know?" Lloyd looked up at Lillian, fidgeting anxiously with his wings. "People destroy things they don't understand…"
"I'm not going to let them," Lillian responded simply, "I'm used to dealing with shits like that."
"Okay…" Lloyd was quiet for a few seconds. "You're… you're remarkably okay with all this." He continued fidgeting with his wings to try and calm down.
Lillian debated for a moment and then let out a slow breath as the palest of yellow auras, but it was still clearly visible, surrounded the high schooler, "I'm a bit of a freak too."
"Y-You're not a freak…" Lloyd watched her quietly, brushing tears from his eyes. "You haven't massive freakish appendages on your back you aren't allowed to use."
"No," Lillian laughed slightly causing the aura to turn a little purple, "But you do. Can I ask why?"
"Why?" Lloyd seemed confused. "I'm an angel because I was born an angel, and I can't really fly for fear of humans noticing…"
"Oh, can I ask why you're on Earth then?" Lillian thought for a moment before adding on, "You don't have to answer any of my questions."
"Well, I… I'm here because I got sent to battle when I was young and was captured. I escaped, but now I'm presumed dead and can't return…"
"That's…" Lillian searched for words, "That's a thing I guess. You've got me if that counts for anything."
