"…Yes?" Lucas asked quietly, avoiding eye contact.
"…Yes?" Lucas asked quietly, avoiding eye contact.
"Please tell me if I make you uncomfortable" he said softly.
"W-Well… it's… I-I just get a little nervous when I'm… uh… c-confined…?" Lucas replied weakly, still not able to meet Skye's eyes. "Y-You know… because of my dad and all…"
Skye pulled back a bit more, not wanting to make the other uncomfortable. "Sorry…" he murmured.
"N-No! It's okay, really! I'm trying to get myself used to it, is all…"
"I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable" he said softly, finally noting that Mar had gone hunting again.
"Honestly, it's fine Skye." Lucas smiled softly. "I can get a bit nervous at first because of bad memories, but you're helping me get more comfortable with it."
Skye hummed thoughtfully, "If you say so…"
"I-I guess just… be mindful that you don't restrain me too much or I might get anxious."
Skye nodded, reaching out to hug him again.
Lucas leaned into Skye, closing his eyes. He cleared his mind so he wouldn't be thinking about his father, which worked fairly well.
Skye hugged him gently, making sure his grip wasn't too tight as he buried his face in the other's shoulder again.
I'll just have to convince myself it's safe… Lucas trembled slightly, trying to clear his mind again. Not thinking was his best strategy right now.
Skye let his arms drop, hoping to make the other feel more comfortable, though he didn't want to lose the other's scent.
Lucas kept his hands in his lap. Part of him wanted to hold onto Skye, but the other was terrified. He had to fight against the anxiety in hopes that he might get over this fear of his.
Skye wanted to hug him tightly and say it was okay, but he wasn't sure what the other needed.
Just keep your eyes closed and don't think about it. And stop shaking. Lucas opened his eyes to look at the fire again. For some reason, it made him feel slightly less tense.
Skye pulled back to watch him slowly, unsure of how to make him feel more comfortable.
You're worrying him… Lucas closed his eyes again. He didn't want to think about it. He tentatively moved a little closer to Skye.
Skye watched him, both concerned and perplexed.
This is so conflicting… I'm afraid of being touched, and yet, I think that's what I want- even need- most. Lucas wondered how he could make this less uncomfortable. "Y-You know… you're welcome to try whatever you want. It'll be pretty obvious if it's too much…"
Skye nodded, "But It's pretty obvious you're uncomfortable… I want you to be comfortable before I go doing anything…"
"I… I think I need this, honestly. T-The whole… physical aspect." Lucas lay his head on Skye's chest. "I'm not used to good touch. The kind that doesn't hurt. It could help with some of my anxiety."
Skye hummed in acknowledgment, gently pulling him closer.
Lucas's heart was still pounding, but he'd pretty much forced his mind to be okay with it. He tucked his head under Skye's chin and hesitantly put his arms around his neck.
Skye smiled softly, figuring this must be hard for the other, wanting to hug him tightly, but keeping his grip light as he rested his chin in the other's hair
I think I'm doing well enough, given the circumstances… Lucas sighed, his face flushed. He was still slightly nervous, but he could get used to this.
Skye squeezed him gently, wanting to wrap himself around the other.
"…I-I love you.." He whispered, holding tighter to Skye. It had been a long time since he'd truly felt love, but he was pretty sure that this was it.
Skye couldn't help grinning like a dork at that, hugging him tightly. "I love you too… "
