Lucas nodded and walked out of the tent with Marco and Skye, looking around to make sure there was no one waiting for them. After confirming they were alone, they set off along back roads and alleys to get out of the city undetected.
Lucas nodded and walked out of the tent with Marco and Skye, looking around to make sure there was no one waiting for them. After confirming they were alone, they set off along back roads and alleys to get out of the city undetected.
Skye led the way, his attention slightly divided as he mentally searched the area for hunters.
After about an hour of silence and sneaking, they managed to get out of the city's borders without anyone trying to kill them.
Marco quietly led them along the main road for awhile, before turning off and heading for the trees.
"Is it safe yet?" Lucas asked quietly, looking over his shoulder to check for pursuers.
"Soon, we need to make sure we're further into the trees before we start out.
Lucas nodded, tailing Skye closely so he wouldn't get lost or anything.
Skye kept a close eye on him, smiling as they went deeper into the trees.
I really hope we were careful enough… Lucas watched the ground as he walked, not wanting to trip over anything. Within a few minutes, they were relatively deep into the forest.
Skye eventually called for a stop, "Alright, time to switch to our other mode of transportation." He said.
"O-Okay…" Lucas was still a bit nervous about this, but he got onto Skye's back once he transformed.
Skye stayed still as the other mounted, before adjusting his footing and getting Lucas in the right position. Finally he waited for Marco to shift.
Lucas held tight to Skye as they ran, trying hard not to fall off. Marco ran beside them in wolf form as well.
Skye barked, picking up the pace. Maro huffed, unable to keep up, so he shifted to the form of a large hawk and took to the skies.
Lucas closed his eyes, knowing he'd be terrified if he kept them open.
Skye kept going, sticking to the same pace as his paws thudded into the soft earth.
"W-When will we get there?" Lucas wrapped his arms around Skye's neck for stability.
"It'll be a few days travel, if not weeks before we can get out of the hunter's range." answered Skye.
"Alright…" Lucas fell silent, closing his eyes again.
(Timeskip till that evening?)
(Sure)
(You or me?)
(You I guess?)
(Okey!)
Skye had noted the sun setting, and had slowed considerably, looking for a place to stop as it got darker. soon he stopped in a small clearing near a ledge, and Marco landed nearby.
Lucas shakily got off of Skye, straightening his clothes a bit as he looked around. "H-How far are we?"
"A good few leagues…" said Skye padding around him to stretch.
"Okay…" Lucas wasn't entirely sure what that meant, but he figured he should just sit down for now. Having not eaten anything substantial for the past week was starting to take a toll on him.
Skye wanted to lie next to him, but he figured he'd better hunt instead. He was just about to say something when Marco landed near him, shifting back to human form. "I'll do the hunting, you stay with Lucas" he said, before running off in the form of a wolf.
Lucas watched Marco run off, hoping he was decent at hunting. "I-I'll… go ahead and make a fire." Lucas stood up and gathered some wood and decent sized stones. He built a little campfire and used his magic to light it.
