Ava attempted to snap this one with her teeth, but it didn't work. "UGH!"

Blue threw her head back as she laughed, shaking her head. "Favorite book?"

Ava flushed. "Um… The Fault In Our Stars."

Blue grinned, perking up. "You're a John Green fan?"

"I wouldn't say a fan since he killed Gus," Ava muttered.

"Amara was inconsolable for days after we read it together." Blue said, shaking her head.

Ava sniffed. "I can't blame her."

Blue huffed a laugh, reaching out to pat Ava's knee jokingly. "While it was a shit move, you gotta admit, it was a good one, in a way. More emotion-wise."

Ava rolled her eyes. "That's debatable. Gimmie the fries."

"Yes ma'am." Blue laughed, handing over the fries.

Ava grinned and tossed one for Blue.

Blue missed this time, huffing as she crossed her arms. "Damn."

Ava frowned, then handed the fries back.

"Your question." Blue said, looking down at the fries as she continued eating them.

"You didn't catch it though. Unless you want me to ask you a question," Ava suggested.

"How do you really feel about me?" Ava asked, looking at Blue seriously.

Blue paused, looking up from the fries. "I-what?"

Ava's eyebrows arched. "You heard me right."

"What-what exactly does that mean?" Blue repeated, this time clarifying.

"What. Do. You. Think of me?" Ava asked slyly. "Brutal, honest truth. Right now. Go."

"I still have no clue what that means. But, uh…" Blue tugged a hand through her hair, looking down at her lap. "I think you're badass? But I also think you're sweet, and you're an amazing-er, kisser. And you're fun? And nice to hang out with? And I'm rambling now, but uh, yeah."

Ava blinked. That… wasn't what she'd been expecting.

Blue bit her lip, fiddling with the fries in her lap. She wasn't sure what Ava had been hoping for, and her response was honestly up in the air.

Ava took Blue's chin in her fingers and tilted it up so they had forced eye contact. "You mean all that?"

"I'm not a big liar, so…" Blue said, her eyes flickering away for a moment before returning to Ava's.

Ava studied her eyes then nodded. "That was a big question. You get a freebie. Go."

Blue blinked, reaching up to wrap a hand around Ava's wrist, not to pull her hand away from her face, but seemingly just to hold her. "Alright, what d'you think of me?"

"Spunky," she answered quickly. "Daring, loyal, hella good kisser… " She trailed off looking sly.
