He groaned, taking one of the staffs like it was a poisonous snake. "Daw shit, okay."

"You're going to have to do it at some point, and I'm going to be less brutal of a teacher than Leon and the others are going to be, so just deal." She twirled her staff, eyeing him for a bit with a blank face, then gripped her staff and lazily swung at his ankles.

He at least made an attempt to move away, but just ended up of his ass when his legs were swiped out from under him.

"Oh, come on!" She stabbed her staff into the ground and leaned against it, looking down at him with a look of confusion and a hint of concern. "I wasn't even trying. What the hell is up with you today?"

Deleted user

"You seriously don't remember what happened last night?" he asked, choosing to just stay on the ground for the time being.

@ElderGod-kirky group

"I was plastered last night. That shit doesn't pull its punches," she said, then rolled her eyes. "All I remember clearly is you carrying me up to bed. That's it. Everything else is a blur. Ziltch. Nothin'."

He let out a sigh, pulling a face. Fuck it. He explained everything that happened the best he could remember, a blush creeping further and further on his face with each word he said.

He nodding to himself, feeling a ball of frustration grow in the front of his skull. "Fuck," he grumbled aloud, grunting as he got up to his feet.

Tessa paced back and forth, fingers digging into her scalp as she ran through what Runner had described. It all came rushing back to her in embarrassing clarity when he had retold it. Shit shit shit shit shit shit shit.

Maybe it's best I just stay out here, he thought, setting the staff aside. Needless to say, he was feeling beyond awkward at the moment.

She sighed and rubbed at her temples, then grabbed some beer to calm her nerves before heading back outside. "Okay…" she started, holding her hands up placatingly. "Okay, okay." She pressed her palms together and looked at Runner. "Let's just pretend that never happened and get on with our lives, shall we?"

He felt his heart deflate in his chest, but he put on his best fake smile to mask it. "Yeah, sure."

@ElderGod-kirky group

She shook her head and grabbed her staff, pulling it out of the earth. I'm a mess, Runner. You don't want that. "Okay, let's try this again," she said airily, twirling the staff around once again while she waited for Runner.

He picked up his own staff and held it awkwardly, feeling even worse than he had 15 minutes ago. "What do you want me to do?"

Deleted user

He scratched his face, scowling slightly at how unfocused he was. The last couple of days have confused him beyond belief, and now his brain was shutting down at probably the worst possible time.

Tessa gripped her staff with both hands and got into a defensive position, purposefully making a wide opening at her left side. "C'mon, Princeling. I'm ready when you are."

He chewed on his bottom lip, then shook his head in frustration and tossed the staff aside. "I just…….not right now. I'm a bit overwhelmed right now." Runner turned around, rubbing his face as he walked towards the house.

He walked over to the couch and fell face down, letting out a groan of frustration. He paid no mind to the bird.

@ElderGod-kirky group

Drax perched on the armrest of the couch, preening his feathers. He was a smart bird and could accurately evaluate emotions and relationships between people. He was trained by the best spy in the Nazek empire, after all.

"These past couple of days have been a mix of hell and heaven," he said to the bird, since it was the only thing he could talk to that might actually respond.

@ElderGod-kirky group

While Drax couldn't talk, he sensed that this was Rhianon's boy–the son of his old Master–and therefore might be able to hear his thoughts. "Care to explain?" an old and wise sounding male voice floated through Runner's head.

Deleted user

He lifted his head, frowning slightly. "So, either I'm going insane, or a bird just talked to me."

Deleted user

Runner tilted his head, frowning. "Likewise, I guess. What did you ask me, again?"

Deleted user

"I'm…..not sure, to be honest. Lots of conflicted feelings, and then what happened last night with Tess….I'm just very confused."

@ElderGod-kirky group

Drax flapped his wings a few times. "Ah, Theresa. A curious one, she is. A hothead with a horrific past. I'm surprised she's still sane." It's been forever since he could talk to someone. He was going to speak his mind while the opportunity presented itself.
