”It isn’t that bad,” Felix assured him a second time. At least the bang had made the voices stop. ”We should get the car back up on the road, though. I… I think that I can still drive.” He focused on ignoring the pounding pain in his head.
"Are you sure? I mean, Felix, you know I can drive…" Zach offered to him. It was the first time he'd said his actual name in a couple days, and he blinked in realization as he said it. It wasn't bad, just surprising.
”It’s okay. I can do it.” Felix didn’t trust anyone else to drive his car. It wasn’t anything personal against Zach. He felt a little dumb as he realised that he had just gotten them into an accident but still he was afraid that someone else would crash his car. ”It would be great though if you could use some of that werewolf-strength of yours to get the car back on the road. I don’t want any other car to drive past and crash into it.”
Zach shrugged, agreeing to this. "No, no, it's fine. Yeah, I'll do that." He opened the car door, got out and changed quickly with a slight ruffling sound, and padded behind the car to go and push it. It took quite a bit of his strength, and his paws were a little bit muddy, but in the end he managed to get the back two wheels of the car back onto the road.
When they got back into the car again, Felix wound had stopped bleeding like crazy. It was still wet, but a quick bandage made of the edge of his shirt made sure that no hair sticked to it. Felix sat down in the drivers seat, his hands still shaking a tiny bit as he layed them on the steering wheel. ”Okay. Let’s go. We should find another hotel or something. At least a store. We both need some more clothes, and I want to get a real first aid kit to have in the car.” He turned the key and the engine started with a roaring sound.
"I can go get some stuff from a target or something if you want to stay in the car," Zach offered, glancing over at Felix and putting a gentle hand on his shoulder to settle Felix's shaking hands. "I brought the card, too."
”Thanks.” Felix exhaled. ”I’m just gonna… try to calm down a bit. Get my thoughts together.” He tilted his head so that his cheek touched Zach’s hand on his shoulder. ”Thank you, for doing all of this.”
Zach smiled softly at him, shaking his head good-naturedly. "You're welcome. Again - it's no trouble. I actually like it."
Felix just smiled tiredly at him. He turned on the music as they got out on the highway, but he didn’t sing along. He didn’t feel like doing that anymore. He just kept his eyes on the road and drove in silence. There were too many things on his mind for him to speak.
(ok, byeee!)
Zach leaned back on the seat and inched his hand towards Felix's, which was resting on the cupholder. He switched his glance between Felix and what was outside his window nervously. God, what if he pulled away now of all times?
Felix saw Zach’s hand getting closer to his. His heart raced a little faster, but as Zach took it he didn’t pull away. He felt like he needed the safety it gave him right now.
Zach breathed a small sigh of relief as Felix's didn't pull away from his hand. He glanced nervously out the window, then back at Felix. Resting his gaze there, he subconsciously started to hum again, the same little tune as earlier.
(Hey sorry I haven’t answered)
Felix kept on driving. Luckily, there were no more accidents. He took of the highway as they passed a smaller town. It looked old, with little stores and houses in bright colors everywhere. Felix started driving slower as the streets got more narrow.
(it's fine - and forgive me, but - oLd tOwN rOaD)
Zach perked a little, glancing around. Even not in werewolf form, that didn't mean he didn't lose all of his wolfish instincts.
"It doesn't look too bad. I can get some stuff from the target over there. Clothes, some food. Whatever you want," He offered, looking back at Felix. The sunset was just starting to go down, and it cast red and orange shadows over everything. Well, shoot, someone is extremely pretty in this lighting.
”Okay, thanks,” Felix agreed. He had heard Zach’s thought and couldn’t help but smiling a bit. This ’someone’ really wanted to take a gorgeous pic of another someone in this lightning, but that would have to wait. ”I guess I should try to find us a hotel or something. Is it okay if I pick you up here in about fifteen minutes?” He looked over at Zach.
(omg I just realized the symbolismmmmmmm)
"Yeah, it's fine. That should be enough time," Zach agreed with a smile. "Same spot in fifteen." He opened the car door, taking the card out of his pocket and walking backwards, not wanting to lose sight of Felix until the very last second.
(Wait what)
Felix laughed as he saw how Zach walked. He decided to be a bit risky and blew him a kiss as he disapeared farther away.
(Zach looks good in the sunrise and Felix looks good in the sunset)
Zach grinned to himself, turning around and walking towards the store.
Once inside, he bought himself a nice pair of clothes: Some jeans, and a brown t-shirt that matched his wolf fur coat. For Felix, he got another pair of jeans and a black shirt that was on sale. He also got a box of loft cookies, a pizza, and a bag of crackers.
(Oooh)
Felix drove his car around town for a while. He found a hotel that seemed kind of nice near a small lake in the edge of the city. He drove back to the store just in time.
Zach came out of the store with the goods in his hand, whistling the same tune softly. He wasn't sure when he'd tell Felix about the ribbon. Sometime soon, he thought - but now wasn't the time. He grinned as he saw Felix idling in his jeep.
”Hey.” Felix gave Zach a quick kiss as he got into the car. ”You ready to go?”
Zach blushed a little bit, shutting the door behind him and placing the goods beneath the glove compartment, on top of his feet. "You bet."
”Let’s go then.” Felix started the engine and drove through the small town. As they came to the hotel, he stayed in the car. ”Just drop the things off at our room, okay? I’ve already gotten us one. Get back here afterwards. There’s something I wanna show you.” He gave Zach a secretive smile.
(Dun dun duuuh cliffhanger cause I got to go now lol bye)
(woahhhhhhhhhhhhh ok bye!!)
"Okayyy…" Zach agreed, a smile slowly spreading across his face. "Sounds good." He got out of the car again, quickly finding their room and unlocking it. He came out a minute later, heart beating in his chest as he closed the car door behind him again. "So, where we going?"
Felix smiled at him. ”It’s a secret. You’ll see.” He started the car.
"Hmm…" Zach giggled a little, staying alert in his seat like a perked dog.
They drove for about ten minutes. When Felix stopped, it was by a cliff in the edge of the town. Below them was a deep valley with another tiny village in sight, a couple of miles away. If you fell over the edge of the cliff you would probably die. The view, though, was breathtaking. Felix parked the car as close to the edge as he dared. ”Come on.”
Zach glanced around him as he got out of the car, shutting the door behind him. "How do you even know about this place?" He asked, walking closer to Felix.
