Jynna smiled and rolled her eyes, "I mean, people are trying to have a nice meal," She opened the door for him and motioned for him to go first, "After you, Prince."
Jynna smiled and rolled her eyes, "I mean, people are trying to have a nice meal," She opened the door for him and motioned for him to go first, "After you, Prince."
He stuck his tongue out at her playfully before he headed out. "Once again, I should be the gentleman, but you, my dear, aren't letting me."
She laughed and shrugged, "I beat you to the door, which means I get to open the door," She replied, following him out and sticking her tounge out at him.
He rolled his eyes and reached back to hold her hand again. "You're just making up rules," he jokingly accused. "Though I guess I shouldn't be complaining, since I'm usually an ass."
"You're not an ass." She took his hand and started walking back towards campus, "At least not when you're with me."
"Because I feel like I shouldn't be an ass around you," he answered honesrly, rubbing the back of his neck with his free hand.
She smiled, a slightly confused look on her face, "Why me though?" She stopped at the road and looked both ways before rushing across, yanking him with her.
"Geez woman, I can cross a road on my own." He easily followed behind her, looking from side to side just in case. "And I dunno, I just don't feel like being a douche towards you."
She stuck her tongue out at him at the crossing the road comment, "I just don't want you to get flattened by a truck. Car's don't stop on this road."
He flicked her nose in retaliation. "I appreciate the concern, but again, I have legs and eyes, as well as ears–however selective they may be. I've crossed plenty of busy roads."
She rolled her eyes and smacked his arm in return, "So have I, I've also been late to class because of that road, and stupid cars."
He gripped his arm with a look of feigned hurt. "Okay, okay. Yeesh, woman. Cars are deadly, lesson learned. I shall not doubt you again."
"You're so dramatic," She replied with a laugh, "I think that burger made you more of an ass."
He rolled his eyes. "I am who I am, Jynna. A burger isn't going to make me any more of an ass than I already am."
"You never know," She joked, smiling and nudging him with her shoulder, "Maybe that burger was specifically made with 'make Rhydar more of an ass' ingredients."
He tilted his head, jokingly humoring the thought. "Hmm, I wonder what kind of ingredients that would be. I don't really care for spices, but I didn't taste any…" he pouted his lips slightly as he pretended to mull over it–sort of actually trying to figure out what would make him more of an ass.
"Or maybe it's just from dealing with me," She continued jokingly, pushing herself onto her toes and placing a kiss on his cheek before nodding to the alleyway they had to go through to get back to campus.
He grinned over at her. "There's a contributing factor to consider as well. You are quite the hassle, after all."
She laughed and shrugged, "I'm not going to deny it." Slipping into the alleyway to get back to campus, she let go of his hand and grinned playfully, "There, now you can't say I dragged you back to campus."
He laughed slightly and rolled his eyes. "You are so…" He couldn't even find the word to describe how different and wonderous she was. Instead, he shook his head with a slight grin. "I'm gonna give you a five-second head start," was all he said.
Her grin grew slightly and she couldn't help but giggle, "A five second head start on what?" She glanced towards the campus then back at him, "Are we racing somewhere?"
"Maaaaayyyyyybe." He lifted his wrist as if he had a watch. "You'd better start running, or you won't even stand a chance," he said, flicking his brows up and looking at her. His emerald eyes gleamed.
She laughed and started running down the alley towards campus, her eyes sparkling when she glanced back at him, "Where's the finish line?"
He grinned and waited for the given time. "Those trees over there," he said, pointing at a small bunch of trees on the school property. Once the five seconds were up, he wasted no time and took off after her.
Once he told her where she had to run too, she sped up, grinning and hoping she had gotten enough of a lead.
He slowly but surely gained on her, a bright grin on his face as he ran after her. This was much better than a boring walk to campus. It was amazing how much a nice race brightened his day.
She glanced back to see how close he was and laughed when she saw that he was gaining quite quickly on her, trying to sprint faster though she knew he was probably going to bat her by a landslide.
He eventually reached her right before the trees. Instead of running past her, he grabbed her by the waist from behind and slowed them both to a stop. "I don't think so," he said with a laugh.
She laughed when he caught her. "Does that mean I won?" She joked, her breathing quick from the sudden run.
He smiled and buried his face in the crook of her neck, getting a whiff of her shampoo. He hummed and held her close. "Hmm, I dunno. We haven't passed the trees just yet," he murmured.
