Marcus watched Firiko carefully as he prepared their meal for that day, cracking a few eggs in a pan to fry. Firiko’s wing had healed well, and the wound on his side was nearly scarred over. Though he was happy his soulmate had begun to heal, Marcus was extremely on edge. It had become harder to resist pulling the halfblood into him and kiss him breathless, to get a little rougher with his play and flirts and kisses.
Firiko had gone to the living room to stretch his wing, trying to make sure it would hold in flight. He watched the other carefully out of the corner of his eye, having noticed that the other was on edge.
“How does it feel?” Marcus asked suddenly to break the awful silence between them at that moment. “Do you think you’ll be able to fly?” He shifted slightly, leaving the eggs to cook as he moved to hug Firiko from behind, slipping his arms across his stomach and burying his face in the soft feathers at the base of his soulmates wings,
Firiko smiled at the other, "I think it should be okay.." he said, his wings puffing up at the touch.
The other hummed happily, placing a gentle kiss to the back of Firiko’s neck. “Good… but don’t you be flying away from me. I still like you, you know,” He joked, chuckling softly and gently nibbling on the other’s neck as a tease,
Firiko smiled, "Of course not.." said Firiko, shivering a little at the new touch. "I like you too.."
“My home is always open to you… even if you do decide to leave you can always come back.” He promised, gently pullingnout of the hug and running his fingers through Firiko’s healed feathers. “I’m glad you’re healed. But do you know how hard it is not to kiss you breathless?” He asked softly, blushing.
Firiko blushed lightly, "I don't think I'm going anyhere anytime soon…" he said.
Marcus smiled slightly, stepping to face his soulmate and search his face for the emotions there. Firiko was so genuine and he loved it. “You’re so cute~” he stated as if it were a fact that everybody in the whole world should know. And it was just that.
Firiko blushed more, looking away, "Am not.." he protested, wings fluffing up.
He chuckled and nodded, gently turning his chin back. “Are too…” he leaned in for a soft kiss, letting the other go afterwards, “Cutie,” he breathed, biting his own lip to stop himself from kissing Firiko again, this time harder.
Firiko blushed furiously, "Am not…" he protested, watching the other curiously.
Marcus shifted, pouting playfully. “You’re the cutest around.”
Firiko blushed, but then turned when he smelled the eggs, "I think breakfast might be burning.." he said.
Marcus huffed, turning to look at the eggs. He moved to save them, placing them on a plate and sighing sadly. “Danggit. I burnt them. I’ll start over for you and I’ll eat these ones.” He murmured, looking a little frustrated.
"It's alright" said Firiko, "It's kinda my fault you got distracted…" he said sheepishly.
“Not at all. I love the distraction you are.” He winked, setting the burnt eggs aside. “How much do you want?” He asked softly, smiling.
"Two is fine.." he said, smiling at Marcus.
"Two it is." He said softly, cracking two more eggs for his soulmate. "So uhm…" He blushed, shyly running his fingers through his hair. "I don't think we've quite established this but I'd like to ask even if we have," He gulped and turned to look at Firiko. "You… Would you… maybe wanna, be my boyfriend?" He asked softly. No one had made him this giddy or nervous before. He liked it.
Firiko blushed for a moment, "Uhm… Yeah.. Yeah I would.." he said quietly, not sure about this new territory.
Marcus was a bright shade of red, he laughed nervously and turned away, biting his lip. “I know we’re supposed to be soulmates but I kinda wanna take things slowly.
"I get that…" said Firiko softly, "This is new for me too…"
“It’s all very new and I don’t want to mess it up.” He said softly, offering the eggs once he finished them.
"I don't think there's any such thing as messing this up…" said Firiko, "Not we if we take the time to work through it…" he hummed thoughtfully, taking the eggs.
“Then will you work with me? I want this to be a happy ending for us both.”
Firiko nodded, "Of course!" he said happily.
Marcus smiled back, pressing a kiss to his cheek. “Now eat. You need strength.”
Firiko rolled his eyes, taking a bite out of one of the eggs, before sticking his tongue out at Marcus.
Marcus grinned cheekily. "Stick that tongue out again, I dare you." He teased, his grin replaced by a smirk.
Firiko finished off his eggs, before cheekily sticking his tongue out again, just to tease him.
