Cindy laughed a little at herself and her brother before turning to Hinata.
“Oh, it’s just that, I’ve heard a lot about you, who you are and all that. So since you are in the Soul Labyrinth, it might be nice for you to know who tragic most of the Knights’ past are.” She stated as she reached into her pocket and got out a pocket watch.
“I stopped at six because you might not be ready for the other six I prepared” she explained as she examined the watch.
“Oh, one other thing. The order of the images and memories you see are ordered ascending, depending on how much I like them. Meaning that by 12, that’s my favorite Knight in the Labyrinth” she added with a small smile.
Hinata nodded.
"Good to know. And thanks."
Cindy nodded as her stomach growled a little. She flushed immediately after as her brother facepalmed and laughed.
“Geez, you’re such a kid” he teased, giving his sister a pat on the head.
“C-Can we go have dinner now?” Cindy asked, slightly embarrassed.
“Yep. Come on Hinata, andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)’s room is just outside” Karat stated in a much more friendly tone than he had used before.
Hinata chuckled, heading to andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)'s room with them.
(For the love of gawd or whoever reading this other than Swimmy, Karat and Cindy are siblings!!)
Opening andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)’s room’s door, they would immediately catch the scent of fire oak and several different spices. andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)’s room was the kitchen-like one where Mason took Hinata into the first time she arrived and stole a cake from.
The tender gentleman figure could be seen working by the counter. He was filleting a fish when they arrived, to which his immediate response was for them to sit down at the dining table. Once he finished with slicing the fish, he walked over to his guests.
“You can all handle spicy food, right?”
"I have no trouble with it." Hinata smiled.
andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) nodded with a smile and went back to the kitchen area. The sound following was something going into a deep fryer and something else going on the grill.
andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) can be seen mixing several spices and chilli peppers into a bowl. Adding to that were small slices of mango, few slices of shallots and small bits of garlic. Sugar, pepper, salt, lemon juice and fish sauce were added in after. Mixing everything in the bowl together, he went over to the deep fryer and took out the number of battered fish fillets he put in. He then tossed the fillets into the mix he made, thoroughly mixing them together and plated them carefully. He walked over to the table and set the decently sized plate down.
“Please enjoy this first, the others will follow. Think of it as an appetizer” he said with a smile and went back to the kitchen area.
(Can I just say that you boss at writing someone cooking.)
Hinata nodded, reaching for a piece of fish.
(I may or may not have been binge watching Gordon Ramsay and other chefs during the time you were gone, just for this “unrelated to the story” scene wink wink)
A knock on the door can be heard. andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) turned to the door before walking towards in and opening it.
The three other secretaries of Karat; Mason, Liam and Paul, were right outside the door.
“Why didn’t you tell us?!” Mason said, grabbing his shoulders and shook him.
“I was thinking on calling all of you when everything was ready but I guess that’s off the hook…” andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) claimed with a cheeky smile.
“Oh come on, you’re not just gonna have us starve now would you?” One of the other two secretaries asked, heading towards the table.
“Of course not” andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) clenched his teeth, saying the last word before he headed back to his kitchen.
The three secretaries all sat down and were, in some way, being respectful of Hinata’s and Karat’s presence.
That was when a whiff of something sweet yet savory came from the kitchen area. andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) then walked over to the table and served the main course of the day, pan fried carbonara with japanese caramelized onions and cheese.
“Be careful, it is extremely hot” the chef of the room warned as he set the food down at the middle of the table where everyone could reach it.
(No matter how ridiculous that dish sounds, I’ve tried it irl and it was superb~)
(Also, you have never seen or heard of andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)’s powers, yes?)
(Nope, never)
Hinata smiled when the food was set down.
"This looks amazing," she commented.
(Well, you’re gonna find out soon enough. And to some degree, it fits his personality and I think you’ll like his ability)
Two dishes came to the table before andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) sat down; a rack of bbq ribs and a tropical fruit salad. When andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) was choosing his seats, he chose the seat beside Hinata’s, which was opposite of Cindy’s.
“So, how’s your stay so far?” He asked Hinata as he carved out a piece of rib for her.
"Interesting, to say the least. For certain one of the coolest vacations I've had in a while now." Hinata smiled, feeling like she had forgotten something.
“I wouldn’t call it a vacation any more if I were you, more like an adventure, but that’s just me” andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) said, sitting back down and quietly enjoying his own food. He then took out a small remote and pressed on the Play button. What followed was the sound of a speaker turning on and it started playing easy listening and pop songs at random.
(Hey! Before we go on from here, pick two numbers from 0-9… this will be important to Hinata’s and the Mortal Hallway secretaries’ fates :D)
(Oooooooooh god. Um… Let's go… 3 and 7.)
Hinata chuckled.
"The two have never been that different for me."
(One wise choice, one… not so much, unfortunately)
andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) giggled a little.
“I’ll believe what you say” he added. Breaking the calm environment was someone thrown through the walls of andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)’s room; it was Matthew in the Scorpio uniform. He looked bruised and was cut in many places.
Hinata stood, making her way over to him. She looked where he had came through the wall.
"You okay?" She asked Matthew.
Matthew slowly stood up as the tail of his uniform moved around.
“I’m fine, I’m fine…” he mumbled. Three demonic figures came into the room through the hole Matthew was thrown through. One had a smiling face, one had a natural frowning face and one had a laughing face.
The four secretaries of the hallways walked up to beside Hinata while the Marquess and his sister moved away, making sure the demonic figures don’t get into the Marquess’ room.
The smiling demonic figure walked closer to the secretaries. andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) clenched his fist and got into his fighting stance. With that action, his golden butterfly necklace slipped out of his shirt.
“Mason, Paul, Liam, you two take care of Karat, I’ll be fine” the chef said as his irises turned gold. The three secretaries nodded and went to beside the siblings. The one assumed to be Paul opened a forcefield around the four passive warriors.
andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) eyed the frowning figure once before he grabbed the smiling demonic figure’s and smashed it against his knee. His blue monarch butterfly wings then spread out and flapped once. What came with it was a strong blow of wind and sent the demon across the room.
The two other demons jumped up, attempting to attack andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) from above. He saw this. After a smile, he raised his index figure at the demonic figures.
“Butterfly Storm” he announced, sending out a blinding layer of golden butterflies. When the butterflies disappear, the demonic figures all stopped moving as their corpses lay motionless on the floor. A small silver butterfly landed on andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)’s shoulder and disintegrated alongside andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)’s wings.
“Sorry, that was uncalled for. We can continue to enjoy our meals… hopefully” andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) stated as hundreds of small butterflies appear by the corpses, carrying them outside. He then gestured to the table, offering for everyone to feast first before doing anything else.
Hinata blinked several times.
"Okay then…" She walked back to the table, unfazed by what had happened.
andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) walked over to the other secretaries and whispered something to all of them. They nodded one by one and went back to the table. He then walked over to Matthew.
“You alright?” He held out his hand.
The nature magician grabbed it and pulled himself up. “Could be better but that was partially my fault. I wasn’t paying attention to the entrance so I kinda got thrown across a hallway” Matthew explained with a slight and embarrassed laugh.
andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) karate chopped Matthew’s head lightly once. “Unacceptable” he added. Compared to Matthew, andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) was relatively short.
Hinata rolled her eyes, sitting down and smiling.
As Hinata was positioning herself on the table, her mind would hear an echoey knock.
“Can you hear me? Hinata?” the voice started.
“It’s me, Cassius”
"Yeah, I hear you loud and clear." Hinata was glad to hear from Cassius, and was ignoring the memory that was trying to resurface from her time with Cindy's ability.
“Okay, sweet. I need you to listen carefully” Cassius’ voice was serious, much more serious than it should’ve been.
“During the time you were gone, some angelic and demonic entities broke into the Labyrinth. With that said, no one was dead or badly injured… but instead, four of the Zodiac Uniforms got taken off us, including my Pisces one” he gradually told.
“What I might need you to do is to sense where the Uniforms stolen are with the Leo Inscription” he explained himself. “The four that were stolen were Pisces, Libra, Aries and Capricorn”
This can't be good, Hinata thought, not sending this particular message to Cassius.
"Okay. I'll get right to it."
“On our side we’re having Sebastian track it down as well. Once you’re done on your side, meet me at the fountain outside Karat’s hallway. I’ll be waiting with Sebastian. Also, it’d be best if you brought out one of the secretary, preferably one who can fight” Cassius sent the message before he went silent.
andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) noticed how Hinata was not eating.
“Low appetite?”
"Hm?" Hinata looked at andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer).
"Oh, no, just getting a message from Cassius."
andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) nodded.
“He’s probably in trouble again” the chef complained in a polite manner.
“I’m guessing he’s telling to take someone with you, am I right?” He asked, placing a piece of fish into his mouth.
