"What is it?" Alex asked when he saw Firiko blush.

"Uhm…" Firiko didn't answer, burying his face in his knees. He thjnks I'm hot????

Alex scooted next to Firiko. His arm brushed against Firiko's side.
"You okay?"

"Yeah… uhm.." his voice was high pitched as he realized the other had scooted closer.

Alex's face took on a worried look.
"You don't sound okay…" He put his hand on Firiko's back, careful of his wings.

"I'm fine… just.. y-you kinda left your book open…" he said quietly.

A look of realization crossed Alex's face.
"O-OH." Alex blushed a deep red. He looked over and saw what page the book was opened to.

Firiko blushed even more, wanting to disappear right then and there.

"W-Well…" Alex put his head in his hands.
"It's true."

"S-Since qwhen??"

"A while…" Alex blushed deeply, embarrassed Firiko found out this way.

Firiko flopped back, "Whelp… this is awkward…"

"I- I'm sorry you had to find out this way." Alex picked up the book, flipping it closed.

"Uhm… p-probably would've found out eventually…"

"Oh yeah. I was gonna tell you eventually, but it would have been better timed." Alex gave a small smile and laughed at himself.

Firiko nodded, not saying anything.

Alex glanced down at Firiko.
"So… what's your response?"

"Y-You're pretty cute…." he whispered.

Alex blushed again.
"Y-You really think so..?"

"Uhm… y-yes.." he said, his voice high pitched with embarrasssment.

Alex sighed with relief. He fell back, turning to look Firiko in the eye.

Firiko met his gaze shyly, not sure how to react.

Alex smiled.
"I'm glad you think that."

Firiko nodded shyly.

Alex smiled, happy Firiko thought that. He laid there for a moment, content. Soon, however, his stomach growled.
"I- Maybe we should eat dinner now…"

Firiko nodded, sitting up and ladling some of the soup out into a bowl and handing it to Alex.

Alex accepted gratefully, waiting to eat until Firiko had food as well.

Firiko served himself next, watching Alex shyly.

Seeing Firiko had his food, Alex carefully took a bite. He closed his eyes and smiled.
"This is really good," he said after he swallowed.

Firiko smiled, and shyly began eating.
