"Whatcha doing?" he asked, raising his head to look at the picture for a moment before laying back down.

And then she remembered the tag-along was there. She waved the picture away, letting it fizzle out into dull embers. "Nothing…" She sighed and glared at the ground. "Morgen, I know you're here."

Deleted user

(skd vnd you didn't tell me. Runner should've been able to sense them from a mile away)

Deleted user

(Oh, gotcha)

"Who, what now?" Runner asked, sitting up once more.

@ElderGod-kirky group

"A friend of mine's sister." She kicked at the ground to further get her irritability across to the person she was talking about. "The Titans live here—underground. That's why it looks like no one lives here."

"Interesting," he said, laying back down. He might as well catch a few Zzz's while he could, so he closed his eyes and tried to fall asleep.

After ten minutes of absolute silence–Tessa had sat on the ground and started to doodle in the dirt by now–the land finally cracked open to reveal a tunnel leading down into the earth. Tessa looked up and reached over to smack Runner's feet, missing a few times before finally hitting him. "Hey, dufus. Wake up."

"I will not respond to insulting and frankly uncalled for abusive names," he responded, rolling over on his side so his back faced her.

Deleted user

"It would be your own damn fault for insulting me for no reason," he responded, getting to his feet and brushing his backside off.

He contemplated just staying out of the tunnel. He was beyond frustrated with the way Tess has acted. The only particularly nice thing she's done is chase after the tribesman, but even then Runner was able to recover by himself.
Mom, he thought, I'm tired of this bullshit. She's a bitch and a half, and makes it a point to be overly difficult. I can't do this if I have to work with her.

@ElderGod-kirky group

(I'm so sorry Runner. I promise, she's a love bug behind all that bitchiness. She's had one hell of a hard life)

Tessa yelped as she slipped and ended up just tumbling down the tunnel. She summoned some scales and–stupidly–her wings to shield her face from all the dirt and gravel.

After heavy deliberation, he decided to walk into the tunnel after her, feeling the walls of frustration beginning to close in on him as he slid down the steep decline. I really don't want to do this.

@ElderGod-kirky group

Well…

She made it down quickly.

Tessa groaned and pushed herself to her hands and knees, head hanging and wings really sore. She was pretty sure they would be heavily bruised from all that tumbling and repeatedly landing on them. Why did she summon them? you might ask. Well, to that she says 'fuck off.'

He reached the bottom unscaved and glanced over to Tess. He couldn't help but feel a small sliver of satisfaction that she kinda sorta deserved it, but pushed those thoughts aside as he walked over.
"Need any help?" he asked, offering a hand.

@ElderGod-kirky group

She glowered at him from beneath her hair but didn't refuse his hand. She grabbed it and pulled herself to her feet. "Thanks…" she mumbled, brushing herself off.

Deleted user

"Not an issue," he said, givng her the once-over before looking around the place they were now in. "So, is someone gonna meet us here?"

Deleted user

"It does sound a bit disfunctional," he agreed, running a hand through his hair. "Well, might as well start off."

@ElderGod-kirky group

"That we should." She did eeny miny moe and picked the left tunnel to go through. "If we get lost, don't blame me," she said over her shoulder as she walked.

Deleted user

"THen who's should it be?" he asked, jogging to catch up.

Deleted user

Runner shrugged. "Good point. How long have the tunnels been here?"

@ElderGod-kirky group

She looked around curiously as she considered his question. "Don't know for sure, you'll have to ask a resident. But what I can tell you is that they've been here for as long as the Titans moved underground."

Deleted user

"There's a lotta old magic in here," he said, reaching an arm out to gently run his hand across the walls. "Centuries old."

@ElderGod-kirky group

She nodded. "Jamie told me a few legends Titians tell. One of which is that the earth here is actually alive and magical." She pressed her fingers against the wall, as if in acknowledgment of the earth's existence. "They say that the earth is what gifted them their magic when they were forced to migrate underground. That it pitted them and gifted them with something to help them live better lives."

Deleted user

"That's accurate," he said without hesitation. "At least, the Earth being alive. I can feel it's magic."

(Should the Earth start talking to him if it's truly alive?)
