She definitely didn't notice the way he scooted closer to Peggy, but stood, making her way to the desk to grab the sketchbook before sitting back down. "It could work." She mused, looking over the design concepts. "How does the symbiote work, when it comes attaching itself to clothing and the like?"
"It just, like, fills the available space." He looked down at his shirt. "Fits in between the threads of my shirts and pants, clings to the inside of protective gear and the like. I haven't found anything that it couldn't stay on."
"Interesting. You both seem confident that this will work." Pepper mused, handing the sketchbook to Peggy. "It seems worth a try."
"It's never not worked before," he said, rubbing his nose a little aggressively. "Can't imagine it not now."
"I'll still need your height, weight, and your clothing measurements." Peggy pointed out, raising an eyebrow,
"I'll get those to you by tomorrow," he promised, dropping his hand back to his side. "I'd rather heal up first, to be honest."
"Down time? Nice." Peggy slouched, leaning back against the couch as she nodded her head to a song she'd had stuck in it.
"Well, I'll be taking my leave." Pepper said, standing and nodding to the two. "Rest up, both of you. You in particular will being doing a lot of that," She pointed at her daughter. "While grounded." And with that, she headed back into the elevator.
Klaus couldn't help but snort in surprise, turning his head away to hide his smile from Peggy. "Goodbye, Ms. Pepper."
Peggy groaned, burying her face in her hands as her mother left with a wave directed at Klaus. "Aw man!"
"It was a bit stupid," he pointed out turning back to Peggy with the smile still on his face.
"I panicked!" She whined, still hiding her face. "The only other option was to start spinning!"
He put an arm over her shoulders and pulled her into a hug. "I can't imagine being your grounding being as bad as mine. Grounded meant being pounded into the ground."
"While that sounds positively horrible, I'm basically not allowed to do anything without parental supervision." She explained, grumbling. "I can't go anywhere, either."
"That doesn't leave you in the hospital for 3 days," he pointed out, rubbing her shoulder gently.
She groaned, plopping her head down on his shoulder. "I'll put myself in the hospital, just for a change of scenery."
He rolled his eyes in response. "Well, I'll visit you every day so you won't be lonely. How's that?"
She fell quiet, pretending to consider it. "I guess that wouldn't be so bad…"
"You don't sound very enthusiastic," he pointed out, beginning to pull away from her. "Maybe I won't, then?"
"No!" She quickly wrapped her good arm around him, the other doing the same at a slower pace. "It'll be the only good thing to come out of this!"
He couldn't help but smile at her reaction. "That sounds a bit better, I must admit."
She narrowed her eyes up at him, wrinkling her nose. "You weren't actually gonna leave." It wasn't a question, just an accusation.
"Guilty as charged," he said, smiling slightly as he settled back into place.
"Asshole." She grumbled, hiding her face in his shoulder to hide the reddening of her cheeks from embarrassment.
"Once again," he said with a chuckle, putting a hand soft on the middle of her back. "Guilty as charged."
"I'm going to hit you if you say that again." She grumbled, voice muffled by his shoulder, though it was obvious she wasn't serious. She purposefully ignored the small flutter in her gut at his chuckle, instead tightening her hold on him.
"I didn't imagine you were such a cuddler," he admitted, adjusting his arm that was in a sling so that it rested just below her shoulders instead of on his chest.
"I'm not." She said, shifting to allow him a bit more comfort, without pulling away.
"Actions speak louder than words," he chided gently, rubbing his hand in small little circles up and down her back.
"Whatever." She huffed, lifting her head to glare half-heartedly up at him. "Consider yourself lucky, I guess."
"Technically, you're the lucky one." He looked down at her with a happy smile. "You managed to get a murderous sociopath to cuddle with you."
