"I should've. Nothing's ever that easy when you're a hero." She sighed, shaking her head. "Sorry, I'm emo-dumping again. You hungry?"
"I should've. Nothing's ever that easy when you're a hero." She sighed, shaking her head. "Sorry, I'm emo-dumping again. You hungry?"
"….Eh? Not really, to be honest," he admitted, pulling her hand back. "Why, are you?"
"Trying to find a topic that's not weirding you out." She said, shrugging her good shoulder. "The only things I've come up with are my broken arm and the designs for that suit I promised you, so let's go with the latter."
He raised his eyes in genuine interest. "A suit?"
"Yup." She plopped back down in her chair with a wince, before reaching for her sketchbook. "I was designing and coming up with ideas, while Adam did his thing. Wanna see?"
He nodded, pulling up another chair beside her's and looking over her shoulder. "Well, duh."
"Alright, alright. So, I'm still trying to figure out how the symbiote would blend with something heavy enough to halt the path of a bullet, meaning I've got a few different designs for each idea." She said, tapping the different sketches of suit ideas.
"You think it'll work?" She asked, looking up at him.
"I'm not the scientist's daughter here, hun," he said dryly. He was smiling despite himself, however.
"Hun?" She wrinkled her nose, making a face as she looked back down at the design. "It might. If I can get something to allow the symbiote to stick to it, even go so far as blend with the suit, you should be good."
"It doesn't need anything to stick to it," he explained. "As long as I'm wearing it, it'll use it."
"If you're sure about that, I'll get started soon. Color scheme?" She asked, flipping past a sketch of Klaus to a blank page and starting on more detailed plans.
"Purple and black," he said immediately. "Only thing that wouldn't look stupid as shit."
"Valid colors." She said, nodding as she drew. "Strength, or movement-slash-speed? I'll try for both, but picking one is a good fallback."
"Movement, for sure," he said, scooting even closer to her. "Amity's got strength down."
"Okay, movement and speed. You'll be invincible." She joked, reaching blindly for her icepack while bouncing the pencil in her mouth.
He leaned back so she wouldn't poke him in the face. "Damn straight. Won't be able to fuck with me."
Instead of her icepack, her hand closed around a wrench, but she seemed to lost in thought to notice as she set it on her shoulder. "God, you'd even be able to kick my ass. Flight?"
"Fuck, that's right. Webs're good though, keeps the suit simple." She mused, chewing on her lower lip.
((Heck yeah. I probably should've done that ages ago lmao))
"All I really need is a power source at this point, right?" he asked leaning in closer to the page, not realizing that he were barely inches away from Peggy.
"Point. Is there any way we can harvest the energy of the symbiote, or am I gonna have to come up with an alt source?" She asked, muttering at the point as she shifted closer to give him a better view, thinking he was still a good distance away.
At this point, they were shoulder to shoulder, and Klaus decided that he kinda sorta liked it. Instead of bringing attention to it, he decided to ignore it. "I doubt it would be very happy if you tried, to be honest."
"So that's plan C." She said, setting her pen down and reaching up to tap where the arc reactor was on her chest while she thought. "Anything else you want me to keep in mind, add on, all that jazz?"
He shook his head. "No, seems like everything's lined up. I never really fought with anything other than my hands, so it's not like I need extra weapons or anything."
"Should I hook you up to Adam?" She mused, mostly to herself, as she stilled her tapping.
He scrunched his nose up at the thought. "No offense, but I don't really need it."
"He tells the best jokes though." She muttered, blinking a few time as she looked at her shoulder. "Why's there a lug wrench on my shoulder?"
