(Could you, please?)
(Could you, please?)
(Sure!)
Ava lays on her stomach on the couch in the living room, pretty much dead to the world. She had gotten up at three that morning feeling off and has been miserable ever since. Even coffee can’t help her now. She groans quietly and buries her face against the cushions.
(Thanks!)
Cameron woke at his normal time of six-thirty, taking a cold shower to help himself warm up before walking out, only to pause, seeing the bag. He picked it up and sniffed through it curiously, popping a bit of candy in his mouth and setting the bag down in his room. He'd mess with the other stuff later. When he walked downstairs, he didn't expect to see her sitting there, looking exhausted.
"Good morning," He commented slyly.
“This is far from a good morning,” Ava mumbles, her voice muffled by the cushion. There’s a very good chance that she’s not going to move from the couch all day. That just requires too much energy and too much effort. Kreja lay next to her, his head resting on her back. When he sees Cameron, his tail starts to wag.
Cameron grunted and turned to Kreja, grinning at the dog as his tail started to wag. "Good morning, Kreja, have you been fed yet?" He asked in a teasing tone, trying to rile up the dog so he could wake up his owner.
Kreja leaps up to his feet, bouncing on Ava's back, barking loudly several times in excitement. This does not go over well with his owner. "You've been fed, you pig. Lay back down!" She moves her hand behind her back and nudges the energetic dog.
Camerom laughed softly and beckoned Kreja. "Come on, let's go get a treat for you." He turned and walked into the kitchen, glancing over his shoulder to make sure the dog was following.
Kreja jumps off of the couch the second he hears the word treat and scurries after Cameron, bouncing around in excitement. He slides across the kitchen floor as he barks.
Cameron laughed softly and took out a bit of beef jerky for the dog, handing it down to him. Lily sleepily made her way downstairs at the smell of food, but instead meandering over to Ava and noising her with her cold nose.
Kreja gently takes the treat and crunches on it, his tail wagging like crazy. He paws at Cameron's leg, his eyes pleasing as he begs for another treat. Ava groans loudly and looks over when she feels something wet on her skin. "Lily, no."
"Noooo, no more," Cameron hummed, gently giving Kreja one more bit of jerky. "Don't tell Lily, okay?" He asked the dog gently, smiling.
Lily barked softly and kept nosing Ava with her cold nose, sniffing deeply.
Kreja takes the jerky and devours it. He licks his jaws, tail wagging like crazy. With a happy bark, he licks Cameron's hand a few times as a thank you.
Ava groans and rolls over so her back is facing Lily. "Stop it," She mutters.
Cameron laughed softly and stroked the top of Kreja's head. "I'm gonna cook now, okay?" He asked the dog gently, already turning.
Lily hopped up onto Ava with her front paws, moving to nose her face and give her a few morning kisses.
Kreja is far from done with getting attention. He grabs the hem of Cameron's shirt and tugs at it, growling playfully. His tail doesn't stop wagging.
Ava pushes Lily's muzzle away as she sits up. "Do you hate me this morning?" She mumbles, wondering why the dog is still licking her.
Cameron laughed and gently pressed on Kreja's nose as it squished up. "Stop it, you crazy thing. I'm trying to make us food."
Lily whined as her muzzle was pushed, sitting up determinedly and continuing to gently lick Ava's face.
Kreja twists and turns and dances around, his entire body wiggling with excitement. He rears up on hind legs and places his paws on the counter.
Ava mutters a few things under her breath before just going limp and accepting the affection.
Cameron chuckled at the crazy dog, taking out supplies for a simple, quick breakfast. "What should we make, Kreja? Should we make pancakes or waffles?"
Lily soon climbed up on Ava and snuggled into her chest, laying down comfortably. She set her chin down with a long yawn.
Kreja grabs a spatula from the counter before jumping back down. He weaves in between Cameron's legs, his barking muffled because of his stolen prize.
"Seriously?" Ava sighs, shaking her head in amusement. She feels like shit and having Lily lay on her like this isn't helping.
Cameron watched Kreja run away with the spatula he just took out, sighing softly. "Come on, Kreja, you can't take that." He meandered after the dog.
Lily barked softly again, leaning forward to administer more kisses to her face. Her tail wagged as Cameron and Kreja entered the room.
Kreja trots into the living room, his head held high. When he spots Lily he bounds over to her to show off the spatula. The dog is clearly very proud of himself.
Ava slaps her hand over her mouth when she's hit by a wave of nausea. She unceremoniously pushes Lily off of her, careful not to hurt the dog, before racing into the bathroom.
Lily wagged her tail, only to make the hurt 'arrph' noise when she was pushed off. Cameron hastily followed after Ava to make sure she made it, wincing a little and looking over at the dogs. Lily barked again at Cameron, then looked back to Kreja, curiously sniffing the spatula as if nothing happened.
Kreja drops the spatula at Lily's paws, offering it to her as a present. He's completely obviously to what's going on around them. All that he's paying attention to now is Lily and the new toy.
Ava slams the bathroom door behind her before bending down in front of the toilet. She just had it just in time.
Lily thumped her tail and gently picked up the spatula, dropping it back onto Kreja's head, which was possible thanks to her angle and height. She moved her paws towards the other dog and gently licked his ears.
Camerom paused a few feet away from the door, his lips pointed down slightly in worry. Well, now he knew she actually did go out to the library and drink with the dogs.
Kreja shakes the spatula off when Lily drops it on his head. He barks and stares at her, a little offended. All if forgiven when the other dog starts to lick his ears. He wags his tail before nuzzling her cheek.
Ava spends a few minutes throwing up before she forces herself over to the sink and gets all cleaned up. Once she doesn't look like death, she slips out of the bathroom.
Lily barked, her tail thumping heavily on th leather seat of the couch. She nuzzled him back, giving him more kisses, apparently very affectionate today. She barked again, scooting back and thumping her paws on the couch, inviting him up like humans do.
Cameron stood there the whole time, trying to seem like a good, caring friend, rather than an awkward bystander or a disappointed parent. He smiled a little when she walked out.
"Want something to drink?"
Kreja licks Lily's cheek before hopping up onto the couch. With a huff, he flops down, his tail wagging. Once he realizes that he's forgotten the spatula, he jumps down and grabs his new toy in his jaws. He barks twice before leaping back onto the couch.
Ava glares at him when she sees him standing there. Rather than giving him a proper answer, she shuffles into the kitchen and grabs a cup of water.
Lily watched the change of mind with interest, her tail thumping on the couch the whole time, her tongue lolling from her mouth. She barked when the other dog joined her, leaning forward to kiss Kreja's ears.
Cameron sighed, shaking his head at her form. Then she wonders why he's so nasty all the time when he doesn't feel his best. He followed her down miserably, looking at the dogs as he passed and joining them on the couch instead.
Kreja offers Lily a huge doggy grin before picking up the spatula and setting it down between her paws. This is his present to her. It’s not much but he’s proud of the stolen object and wants Lily to have it. He looks over to Cameron and wags his tail, his expression completely innocent.
Ava retrieves her water before returning to the living room and plopping down on one of the chairs. Glancing at the dogs and the spatula, she just shakes her head in amusement. Those dogs are crazy but she loves them. With a sigh, she sips at her water.
Cameron watched the dogs with amusement, down to the moment of Lily spastically wagging her tail and thumping her paws happily at the present made of very chewable plastic, picking it up in her jaws and waving her large head crazily.
Cameron laughed softly, reaching over to gently pat Kreja's head. "You're a good boy. Just be glad all of my favorite spatulas are at my restaurant."
Kreja’s entire body wiggles happily when Lily seems to approve of the present. He sniffs at her ears before turning his attention to Cameron. With a happy bark, he licks the human’s hand.
“Careful with what you say. He’ll just keep stealing things,” Ava absentmindedly tells Cameron. Her dog is a thief and she knows it. The amount of times he’s stolen her knifes is crazy.
