"You like this one?" he said, knowing her choice, even as she gave the others another look over.

“I still want to look at the kittens,” She replied, looking up at him with a smile, “Maybe you’ll like one of the kittens better than I like this ball of fluff and we’ll get it instead.”

He smiled softly "I like both cars and dogs. So this might be hard." He admitted, standing up to walk around more

She laughed and shrugged, “So do I.” She pet the puppy one more time before standing up as well, ready to go look at the kittens.

Loki followed Avalin around the shelter, smiling at his wife as she awed and cooed at the animals

Eventually she crouched down next to the kittens, playing with the ones that came over, though her focus drifted to a small pure black kitten after a minute or two.

Loki glanced down at the kitten again and smiled softly, walking over to it and crouching down. He reached out a hand and stroked it's back gently, scared that's it flich away

“Like that one?” Avalin asked softly as she watched him crouch down by the kitten and reach out to pet it. She smiled and went back to playing with the other kittens, in love with all of them.

Loki nodded and sat next to the kitten, "it's cute." The kitten nudged up into his hand

She looked over at her husband and her smile grew as she sat down in front of him a little way away, watching him and the kitten.

THe kitten glanced up and rolled onto her back, pawing at loki's hand gently. he laughed softly "hellow, little kitten, not so shy now are you?"

Avalin laughed softly as well at the kitten, “That kitten is adorable, and it needs a name, even if we don’t get it.”

He nodded in agreement "Se certainly does. Any suggestions?" he asked, glacing up at Avalin.

“You get to name her,” She replied, motioning to the kitten as her lips turned up into a small smile, “No suggestions from me allowed.”

He thought for a moment "Queenie." He decided, having heard the name while he spent time on Midgard "is that good?"

She nodded and the smile grew, “I like it, it suits her.” She reached out and pet the kitten gently before sitting back.

He glanced up "ready to choose yet?"

She bit her lip and glanced between the puppies and kittens, torn from the choices, “I don’t know, I want all of them, but especially Queenie and the puppy. Give me a minute to decide.”

"think you can handle two?" He asked, also torn between the cat and the puppy who kept staring at them.

Her eyes lit up and a bright smile crossed her face as she looked up to him, “You would let us take two of them?”

"I think we're more than capable of handling two animals, what's the worst that could happen?" He asked, hoping he wouldn't regret the words later

“A lot could happen, but we can handle it,” She replied, standing up and looking over to the puppy excitedly.

He nodded and picked the kitten up, cradling it in his hands. They went through the whole adoption process and filled out papers, along with some groans of protest from Loki. After all of the work he glanced over at Avalin "ready to go back to the house?"

Avalin nodded with an excited and very thankful smile on her face, holding the squirming puppy in her arms, “Yup, as long as you are.”

Loki nodded and waved his hand, teleporting them back to their house in Florida.

She smiled when they got back to the house and set the puppy down gently before wrapping Loki in a hug, careful not to squish the kitten.

He glanced down at his wife and kissed her head "so I take it you liked that surprise?" He asked with a knowing smile,

“Yes, a lot,” She replied, kissing his cheek happily.

He nodded "then I think I've done my job successfully then." He set the kitten down and pulled Avalin to his chest

She hugged his tighter and felt the smile on her face grow. “I love you,” She said softly, looking up at him.
