Arvil snorted. “Maybe. Who knows what goes in that guy’s head,” he ran a hand through his hair, remembering the time her hands were in it. “He offered to run me over by a car today.”

“That’s one of his many threats,” Arvil sighed solemnly. “He bullies me a lot, Daisy. You’re my fiancée. You’re not supposed to support him.”

Deleted user

“Of course he is,” Arvil muttered under his breath. “Yeah, yeah, bully the hot nerd. I don’t even know why I surround myself with cruel people.”

Arvil gasped, his hand on his heart.

“How did you know?” He took a step back dramatically. “I thought I was doing such a good job at hiding my feelings!”

I might like you a bit more than Noah…

Deleted user

Arvil grinned at her, stepping closer to poke her cheek.

“For your previous statement, I don’t like Noah. I like you, though, so that’s sad,” he chuckled. “And your question… are you really sending me off just like that?”

“Like what? You said you had to leave,” Daisy said, pushing his hand away from her face. “Unless you wanted to stay? I could order a pizza and we could catch up?”

Deleted user

“I do want to stay, trust me,” Arvil sighed. “But I need to go. We can catch up later.”

I might also do something stupid if I step inside your apartment. Which, I’ll add, sounds tempting but is a terrible idea.

“Oh, sure,” Daisy said, smiling at him with a nod. She hoped she didn’t sound as disappointed as she felt… “I’ll see you tomorrow, then.”

“What, no goodbye kiss?” Arvil teased, hoping to get another smile. “How mean, Daisy.”

Deleted user

“Goodbye, darling,” Arvil shook his head, chuckling as he turned away. “I’ll see you later.”

Daisy chuckled again, watching him walk away. Once he was gone, she shut the door and leaned back against it with a soft sigh. What was going on with her?

”Here I stand,” Arvil sang as he pressed key after key on his keyboard, clicking on the mouse occasionally. ”Helpless and left for dead~”

He paused, furrowed his eyebrows and sighed when the boss he was fighting killed him. His secretary released a sigh of relief.

“Is there something wrong, Noah?” Arvil smirked mischievously at the young man.

Noah’s eyes flickered to him coldly. “No, sir, but something will be if you sing again.”

Arvil took that cue to start again.

Say goodbye/ as we dance with the Devil tonight,” he continued singing, a smirk on his lips, restarting the level. ”Don't you dare look at him in the eye/ As we dance with the Devil tonight~!”

A pen flew right above his head, crashing on the wall, narrowly missing him.

“I thoroughly pity Miss Riley for the amount of energy she’ll use to tolerate you, sir, when you’re married,” he said in his usual indifferent voice. “I’m sure we’ll find your body in the river after just a week.”

“Ah, speaking of Daisy…” Arvil leaned back on his seat, ignoring his employee’s words. “She should be visiting me any day. I’m looking forward to it~”

Daisy had decided to grab lunch for herself the next day and remembered what she had told Arvil. So, since she had the time, she picked something up for him, as well. When she was finished and had reached the building where he worked, she stepped inside and smiled at the woman at the front desk. With a nod, she stepped past and made her way up to Arvil’s office.

She knocked on the door when she arrived, chuckling when she heard her “fiancé’s” off-key voice. Without waiting for an answer, she stuck her head inside.

“Hey. I brought lunch,” she declared, her gaze drifting around the room. “Hi, Noah. How are you?”

“Daisy!” Arvil’s eyes lighted up upon seeing her like a dog’s would upon seeing food. “You’re here~ Come on in!”

Noah nodded as a way of greeting to the woman. “Aside from bleeding ears, Ma’am, I’m fairly well. How are you faring?”

“C’mon, Noah, my singing’s not that bad,” Arvil laughed. “Your ears have been functioning well for the past four years.”

Daisy laughed and stepped inside, holding out the bags of food to Arvil. “I’m doing rather well, thank you. I got promoted this morning,” she declared, her eyes sparkling and her grin shining.

Arvil nearly melted when he heard her laugh and saw her grin. Noah snorted at his look before turning to Daisy, giving her a small smile.

“That’s wonderful, ma’am,” he said, sounding happy for her. Arvil shot him a look of betrayal. “That calls for a celebration, no?”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

“I think it does. I’m sorry, but I didn’t bring you anything,” Daisy apologized, returning his smile and giving a shrug. “Maybe Arvil will take me out tonight and bring you with.”

Deleted user

“I’d rather not,” Noah answered with a tight smile. “It’s quite all right. You and Mr. Davis should go. I need to turn some files in to the Strategic Department. I will see you later, Ma’am.”

“You’re the fiancée of my employer. I can’t call you by your first name,” Noah gave another nod. “Have a pleasant day.” The secretary walked out the door, leaving the two in silence.

Arvil slowly stood up and walked over to Daisy.

“So,” he started softly. “You got promoted.”

Deleted user

Arvil playfully ruffled her hair, grinning.

“Damn right it is,” he laughed. “I’m happy for you, darling.”

Arvil cupped her cheeks softly, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. “That’s for getting promoted,” he teased. “Now let’s eat.”

Daisy blinked, feeling her cheeks heat up. She frowned slightly from being flustered by him, then shook her head. “Thanks for the congratulations,” she murmured as she made her way to the couch and sat down.
