Oh God, my stories have so many of those….
Oh God, my stories have so many of those….
me too, amn, me effing too.
Books with stories over timelines that connect!
Refugee by Alan Gratz is really good with that, it has the stories of 3 refugee kids from 3 different time periods and countries, and the stories connect! It's really cool!
I read Refugee last semester for a book project for my English and I really enjoyed it! I think all 3 stories were handled very well.
So do I!
I don'r remember how the girl's story connected to the others, though, but that might just be me being forgetful.
I want to know how they connect in order to understand the concept.
It's a good book, you should read it!
To All The Boys I've Loved Before also has a strong familial aspect!
Soft! Boys! Instead! Of! Bad! Boys!
Yes! Please!
I have a lot of Soft Boys in my stories because I like writing healthy relationships and you don't get those with what people seem to think Bad Boys are.
Good Bad Boys: The guys from The Outsiders (except for Dally)
Bad Bad Boys: Hardin Scott, Edward Cullen, etc.
Soft! Boys! Instead! Of! Bad! Boys!
Yes!
Both of the boys I have on my story so far are cinnamon rolls :)
I have bad boys that are made soft before I put them in relationships. Sure, they're still tough and all, but they know their own strength and how to use it wisely.
So what is it that makes a good Bad Boy?
My only remotely fleshed-out male character is basically the definition of the whole "tries to be super tough and emotionless but is actually just a sweet, affectionate lil cinnamon roll" trope but I love him so much anyway
So what is it that makes a good Bad Boy?
Someone that just looks like a bad boy
Sodapop Curtis, Two-Bit Mathews
Characters who are 'bad' because they don't conform to society's standards, not because they're assholes and often abusive.
Ooh yay I’m a Bad Boy. Except am I? Because I definitely do not follow social standards.
ALSO by Fall Out Boy
I like morally grey characters that are utter bastards but still loveable. I deeply am sorry.

Kaz Brekker has entered the chat
And for me Victor Frankenstein has, but apparently that one's not as universal
ewww kaz reminds me of myself and I don't like it
I was about to yell "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY ABOUT MY SON?!" and then I read the rest so I won't.
Bruh same. I'd throw hands for Kaz
I'd throw hands for Kaz and Victor.
I'm pretty sure Kaz can throw hands for himself though
Same
although in my opinion Victor Frankenstein is less lovable because he's just so fucking stupid
Consider: I'm also fucking stupid lol
I need more morally grey characters who are actually morally grey, like Chelli Aphra and Kaz Brekker.
Victor isn’t really morally grey. He’s a mix of immoral, a jerk, and really stupid.
