The woman behind the camera interrupted the conversation. "Anyways, is there anything you'd like to ask him? About his….condition?"

"I- I'm not sure how it works, Baylee. Please tell me…" Ashlie sighed. Oh, fuck it. "Why don't you ever talk to anyone?"

He took another deep breath. "'Cause I don't know how people would react. This isn't something most people….exists, ya know?"

Ashlie looked- no, stared, into Baylee's eyes.
"I wouldn't have cared if you had sprouted lobster hands and breathed fire; your my friend, and I'll always be there for you."

He only shrugged in response. "I didn't know that."

Ashlie hung her head.
"I get that now."
