@Trix
So should it be a right?
So should it be a right?
In a way I suppose.
But what if the suicide is just influenced, by, say, environment. Let's put you in a scenario where many people you know have committed suicide. You're not actually sad - in fact, life isn't that bad for you. On a whim, though, you feel sad and depressed, and suddenly decide to commit suicide; your parents, family, friends can't convince you otherwise, even when you had a very bright future coming for you. You still have the right to take your life and hurt everyone around you?
It's your life. You should be able to choose. People do things everyday that hurt people, with zero care in the world (rough I know but it's true) we shouldn't live in constant fear that our actions could possibly hurt someone's feelings, because that could be anything
Also if crimes based on emotion are punished we must all live in fear.
Ok… pretend we have two best friends. They both want to commit suicide, and they want to do it together. They want to have their lives taken by the other, so they shoot each other and both die. Is that allowed?
For legal reasons a contract should be written first but yes.
I do want to clarify that I think suicide is wrong. But I also do not plan on enforcing my morals on others.
The real question is whether saving someone from suicide would be a crime. I say probably.
Same^
Basing off the previous scenario, again we have two best friends. They've been together their whole life. This time, only one wants to commit suicide. Let's say Person A wants suicide, and they want Person B to kill them. B shoots at A, their best friend. Is this allowed?

Like Dom mentioned, they should have a contract for legal reasons, but if one should accidentally survive, it would be considered murder after that, which is a punishable crime.
Dude that's fucked up if you ask your friend to kill you.
XD but it's just a scenario. Is it allowed?
Oh of course! I'm just saying.
People (me) tend to think 'out aloud' a lot.
Maybe a waiting period and after that a person could be punished for saving them. Like apply for suicide and wait a year so that people can try to change your mind.
That is such an odd thing to say "apply for suicide"
XDDD Eris you're hilarious.
So if you're allowed to kill someone, considering they give you consent to kill them, and they've applied for suicide (XD) and have been on the list for a year, then you can kill them?
What if there's a murderer around who kills someone, then in the court case says it was because this person had given them consent. The person has, coincidentally, been on the list for a year. How easy would it be for a murderer to just pretend to be their best friend, to kill them.
They would get away with it possibly. But something should not be prevented just because something bad could happen from it. Especially if it is a right.
Well I still think that there should be a contract specifying who can kill you. If the murderer's name doesnt match up then they get punished for murder.
That is such an odd thing to say "apply for suicide"
That sounds like something in a dystopia

Nooo I don't need any more story ideas rn lol
BOOM
I'm literally full of them.
I should be the writing prompts guy.
Would there be a death list? Would people fight to die? Is there honor in dying in a fighting match?
The possibilities of an honorable death are endless.
Hail Seppuku.
BOOM
I'm literally full of them.I should be the writing prompts guy.
Please. The writing prompts are getting….strange, for lack of a better word. Now THIS is something interesting XD
Strange… ?
Strange… ?
Well, not so much "strange" as "far-fetched". I enjoy reading them, but they're so far out there that, personally, I think it's difficult to form a story. But that's just me.
Ah.
It's so powerful to see such a small word with a period.
